Hint for Q8:
A final diagram, and some info:
Frictional force = Frictional co-efficient * Reaction force
Moment of a force = Force * Perpendicular distance from pivot
If a system is in equilibrium, there is no resultant moment. You could say clockwise = anti-clockwise.
Apologies if this hint is a bit unhelpful, I'm rather tired. Perhaps Wormy's hint will prove more successful.
