Keep going, my dearest friend and college student!
I am also in my 3rd week of college, and it hasn't been easy.
I give you a round of applause, especially for being in art school. Not everyone is capable of having an artsy side (I certainly don't), but I'm so happy you are pursuing education in a field that you love.
Remember to get rest, eat well, and most importantly, take care of yourself. Easier said than done, I know, and very easy to put off in the midst of deadlines and assignments, but you deserve to be healthy and happy!

God, I know your feeling, I'm an art student too, and it's like all I do is working/eating/sleeping... But we have to hangin on ;)

Sounds like you're getting a quality education though. If it's not hard work, it's not worth much (as my time as a history student can attest to, that was less work than high school, and I spent most of high school playing quake in class. Then I switched to something that actually required a lot of work).
So good luck with your education, and hopefully you'll get into a rhythm of it soon, and be able to make a bit more spare time.

Being a student isn't hard when you have Barbie in your life.
Oh, wait... wrong topic. :3
It may be more work than you were expecting, but I'm proud of you, Triisken, for fighting your nocturnal tendencies and getting to sleep at a sane hour, and for cracking down and focusing on your studies. It may be hard, but it'll all pay off for you soon! :D

I know the feeling, being in analytical chemistry, where EVERYTHING matter. Like, you need to write your calculus on the left page, and never on the right page, the number of zero after a dot mean something(10mL is not the same thing as 10.0mL)
And lot's of work too. But don't worry. The first semester is usually the worst because you are not use to that amount of work. After that, it will be a little bit easier, only because you know what you will need to face, but also being used to it too. And also, further you are in your field of study, funnier it's get because you start in broad class, but with every semester, you get closer and closer to precisely what you want to do(if you are in the right course)
Have fun :)

Uhm, I don't know about other people but in our classes we are taught how to do different things to help us complete our weekly assignment. It's still very early on however and we're all noobs so it might change once we're more familiar with the programs.

I don't have much to say but good luck so... yeah. Good luck! You just have to keep to keep moving foward.

It may be hard, of course, but at least its what you want to do, i will be glad to do it too, but there isn't a lot of place for working with that career.
I want to tell you that following your dreams it's the most brave thing you can do, and not everyone does it. Good luck and enjoy it!

A few weeks ago I started school again after quite a long break of doing nothing. I knew it would be hard work where procrastinating wouldn't be an option. I thought I was prepared, turns out I underestimated just how much hard work it actually requires.
I just completed my second week full of lectures, daily assignments, weekly assignments, daily drawings, watching tutorials... and then they recommend working on personal projects during the weekends. Deadlines are tight, most of my days are spent at school, when I actually get home I barely have any time to do anything before I need to sleep.
The point is that I haven't been able to be around much, especially on the forums. I should be able to spend some more time around here soon, but until then I have a little something I've been saving for my favourite forum lurkers. ♥
