I don't know about the Need for Speed games but Burnout Paradise was great back in the day and probably still holds up well, even without the crash crossings.

No worries. I think there is only one so I was just linking it for convenience for other people who might wanna chime in ;)

Hot pursuit is a great game and along with burnout get revived often, so you will eventually be able to try the mp
Shift is mediocre. Undercover is trash

bought them 1y ago before christmas.
i like very much shift and shift 2 (i like sim-arcade and they are both good at it). hot pursuit as well (more arcade). Undercover runs bad on my pc and i didn't want to investigate so i uninstalled it. burnout paradise, i already had it from an old origin bundle, it's nice but i like most wanted best as a free roam racing game (more modern than burnout).
i was able to use my wheel in all of them as far as i remember.
you can activate them on origin as well.
resume: i recomend the pack

Shift and Shift 2 are enjoyable games. I like them.
Burnout paradise - from what I remember I liked it back in the day. But I cant really say I would much enjoy it now. Altough it had bunch of stuff to do. So its hard to say.
If I remember Undercover - it was quit meh.. Nothing special visually. And as NFS physics are.... somthing. Maybe just as a nostalgic game.
Hot pursuit - seems like I havent played it.But looks decent.

I always enjoyed Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. My boyfriend really loved burnout paradise because of the roaming.
You cannot really play 5 racing games at the same time though. Why not just pick two or three if you find all games too expensive?
They are also on sale individually. And then the following question, do you like more realistic racing or the Arcade type?
If I had to pick from those games I'd go for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, this is more arcade style then shift. Its good and on of the newer ones from the NFS games on the list. And Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, it's less arcade like then NFS, and you can roam a lot.

Just my twenty two cents.
Need for Speed Undercover
An unremarkable picture (at the level of Crash Time 2), does not go to any comparison with Burnout Paradise of the same year of release. AI opponents (and cops) are dumb, the general gameplay formula: race-race-race-(clip with actors)-task from/ overtake of/ takedown of the boss, repeat 10 hours before the final. The plot is very poor. The city is absolutely empty and lifeless - there is nothing to admire. Oh, and Steam version isn't optimized and patched like the Origin one.
TL;DR - not recommended.
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
My first game from Burnout series. The best graphics and solid optimization (as of 2009, ofc). Advanced damage model (as of 2009, but only visible and joyable when you crash). Open world is available just from the start. There are a few motorcycles, local party mode (on one controller) for 8 friends, various soundtrack from alternative to classics. And where else can you fly on red DeLorean? Experience a Formula 1 bolide on city streets? Become a ghostbuster for auto-ghosts?
Just a few cons for me - a slightly annoying racing system for 8 basic checkpoints and cheaters in online modes (PC version).
TL;DR - recommended (through the OP creator already have it).
Need for Speed: Shift
For almost 7 years since the release of this game I tried it on three different machines with three different OSes, the result was the same - very low FPS everywhere. However, it's almost 2018, maybe with i7-7700K, 64 Gb of RAM and GTX 1080 Ti now you can reach stable 30 FPS.
The product is still the same NFS ProStreet, and in terms of content - almost an exact copy of the Race Driver GRID. There are only four kinds of competitions: race, time trial, drift, duel + series of mixed events. The physics is crooked, cars in GRID feel more realistic (although a bit arcade). Graphic component is clearly a success - honestly, I want to say that it's better than GRID (especially the sky), but still do not forget about the difference between games in a year and a half ... Oh, there are super-detailed views from the cabs!
By my memory - this is the first racing game with level up system .
TL;DR - the game is not bad enough, but almost completely secondary due to the first GRID.
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
Ok, it's a tought one. It was my second game from Criterion Games, so my expectation were too high - bigger, better and even more destructive
than Burnout Paradise! Sadly, for me it was only just a little bigger and somehow better. The mind-boggling damage system from Burnout Paradise just disappeared. In addition to the rare traffic and cuts on the roads there is nothing (in the previous game from Criterion Games there were: the railway, billboards, gas stations, parking places, jumps from high mountains, records on the roads to beat, ect.). There are only THREE (3 !!!) online modes. And again, game isn't patched on Steam, but even more - if you'll patch it, you'll be not able to play with buddies who didn't install the patch!
TL;DR - just a nice remake of the classics, recommended for every NFS fan, for others - don't expect something similar like Burnout Paradise (though there IS a hybrid of NFS and Burnout - Most Wanted (2012)).
Shift 2 Unleashed
The bad: the maximum number of activations on machines equal to five (but you can save all five after deinstallation); possible problems with first launch / first race (took me a few days to resolve it); handling on the keyboard is slightly worse than in the first game (drift is simply nightmare!); "magnetic" bots (when in contact, they either push you out of the track or take you too far on gravel with them); poor performance (again!); every thirty seconds the windshield / screen get dirty and it stays the same even in photo mode.
The good: graphic component (especially auto models); more class competitions, classic cars and tracks; races in the night; nice photo mode.
TL;DR - 60% of simulator, 40% of arcade, recommended for gamepad owners which have powerful PC and don't afraid to lose $ 4.99.
