Yesterday I won the game. This is a game AXYOS. However, it turned out that this is not the product code but the steam gift with limited use in some countries. But in this Giveaway it was not marked that this game has such a restriction. What should I do ? Mark that did not receive the game or indicate that I have received. But again in regulations SteamGifts I write that I have every game to add to your account and I can not add.
"This item cannot be added to your library because it is restricted from your country.
"This is a restricted gift which can only be redeemed in these countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Republic of, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russian Federation"

Ask the giveaway creator for a reqion free copy.
If the don't provide one you can

  • write in the giveaway that you agree that the giveaway is deleted (so the GA creator can request to delete the giveaway with support) or
  • mark as not received after 7 days.

Edit: Click again on "Received" to un-receive it. RIght now the game shows as a non activation on your profile.

Send back, mark not received, move on. Giveaway creator learnt what everyone knows for quite some time, that Steam gifts are region locked if you are in a non-ROW country.

I'd return the gift to the GA creator and ask him to delete the GA. He/she probably won't be able to provide working copy anyway.

If you are unable to add it to your Steam library, contact the giveaway creator either by leaving them a message on the giveaway or messaging them on Steam. Let them know you cannot activate the gift, offer to send it back to them, and ask for a replacement that you can activate.

If they cannot provide a replacement gift that does activate for you, then you have two options --

  1. Seven days after the giveaway ended, mark it as Not Received.
  2. Leave a message on the giveaway letting the creator know you're okay with deleting the giveaway.

If you have no way to communicate with him, I'd send the gift back to him when you can, and mark the giveaway Not Received seven days after the giveaway ended

It would still be worthwhile to leave a message for him on the giveaway, since he could use an online translator to translate it.

Well, then you can just leave a message in english and mark as not received after 7 days. Or use google translate. There's not much you can do about a language barrier...

If he doesn't have the minimum intelligence to use Google translate or Yandex translate, that is not your problem.

Then he is also breaking all kinds of rules as the minimum age for a Steam account is 13.

I had that happen once too.

I contacted the creator of the giveaway and turned out he wasn't aware that the gift copy was region restricted.

I returned the gift to him and we agreed upon deleting the giveaway.

You have to start with contacting the creator of the giveaway and take it from there.
