You know you dont.
Plus, it makes it even worse when you have plugins like Enhanced Steam that SHOWS you previous PRICES (and cheaper, mind you)

So, no, this sales SUCK big time, there's no events, no good or decent discounts and heck they even change/make more expensive the discounts on the fly; several people noticed this, see a bundle or "complete your set" price rise by just refreshing the page.

If I were a king and GabeN were a lord, maybe I'd send him on a pilgrimage or something, since chopping his head seems too drastic.
There, hate me if you want people, doesn't change the fact most of you aren't happy at all. Looking the glass half-full see: where Steam is getting down and making room for someone to take its place, luckily we have bundles, sites like nuuvem, traders and <3 GOG! <3

Top sellers don't need to offer big discounts, because they are - wait for it - top sellers.

Well a lot of indie and older games I wanted are 75 percent off, I'm more dissapointed in my wallet if anything. (Some sort of additional event or minigame would have been nice too.

The sales are as good as they were expected to be. Yes, dialy sales and flash sales are gone, but that started a year ago, I think its better just to accept it and move on.
Also its better to have sales like this one from an economical perspective, I can easily make a budget and just buy what I want, not having to check everyday if the game was cheaper and spending more than I planned because a game got a bigger discount.

Better ruin a sale than to learn people how to properly do their own accounting.

It's like forcing crap on people rather than having them learn not to click links to free get free Counterstrike money... oh wait, they did that too right?

Honestly hard to say what considering most of us have gotten so many games that all that's left are pretty recent and thus not that prone to getting nice discounts (ignoring IFI games)

And there's always other sites who tend to do similar sales which possibly better examples around this time.

i loved these sales back when they had flash deals, gave me something to look forward to each morning checking for what got the deep discounts each day of the sale, now the sales are pretty much over the first day, you see the price of everything buy what you like and your done with the sale.
i will add tho i have saved a ton of money because of this change i dont buy nearly as many games as i used to.

Hey,sorry for hijacking this post but I have a question regarding this sale.

I am interested in buying AC:Black Flag,Metal Gear Solid V and Ryse Son of Rome. All of them are at 75% off now and on their page it says that the sale will be over on 4th of july.Only AC Black Flag is a featured sale.

Does that mean that the 75% off will remain for all until the end of the sale,or only the ones that are not featured?

Everything will remain till the 4th of July unless a game's store page says otherwise.

I mostly play payday 2 &it has a free long time Promotion with a lot of people who newer played it before. Steam Store dosnt work any more. The preis is on sale much higher as on the regular sale. So is the summer sale on Steam something good, i feel no. It just waiting my time. Wish it would come to the end.

But now they will be shit throughout.
Since what you see on day 1 is what you get ALL 14 days.

No need to go to the storepage at all, except to click that exploration link to get free cards to see more games with horrid sales you do not want.

That's because you already own all the good games.

The deals are really bad from what I've seen so far but I didn't intend to buy much anyway. At least this year they are not wasting my time with some tedious clickr game.

I mean, here I am looking at my wishlist and...Wolfenstein has been cheaper, Transistor has been cheaper, Blood Dragon too and those are just a few...so yeah, I might not buy anything this summer sale, only if I really wanna play it right away and it was not cheaper, like Stardew Valley.

I miss playing a game or hunting for stuff or doing anything except "watch a commercial for games you probably won't buy" :-(

First, the discounts are set by the publishers/developers, not Valve. And I think, the main reasons the discounts are not as high as before (and my guess they never will be) is because of the refund policy.

After getting all the data since the refund policy has started, publishers/developers are compensating their final revenue by adjusting their discount rate with the refund copies. They are offsetting the revenue they usually get during sales with the expected number of refund costts in order to maintain the similar level of revenue that they've been getting before the refund policy started.

So so. I snagged few neptunia games leaving the last one because it doesn't have big discount 75%+.

Got a few software like Borderless and Controller Companion.

Grand total 14 USD approx or less. Significantly lower than last two years sales. I'm spending less on Steam because... well.. low discount. Not Steam's fault, and not my concern since I buy what I want, but I can say they receive less money from me this year round.

And I still will go to pick up Sonic on Humble later since Steam has it... more expensive even with regional pricing - cause low discount. Surprising.
