Was thinking of getting mafia to just see whether it's that good or not compared to mafia 2... where can i get this game...been looking for it for a while... where can i get this game for a digital purchase....??

If you are getting it for steam, good luck finding a good price for the game. If you want a retail copy that isnt steam, then it should be cheaper and more legit with the price.

Not worth to pay what traders are asking just to have it on Steam, since you can find pretty cheap physical copies out there in eBay, Amazon or such.

yep i know... but i live in INDIA... so it'll sum up to i guess to 45-50$.... coz of customs and all... and i dont even think that they'll ship to India

You can find a physical copy for ~$10 in a store like NextWorld, from New Delhi... They don't have it available atm as it seems, but just to show you that if you do some digging on other local stores or maybe even at eBay, as I said, you'll be able to find it for a good deal, including with shipping costs.

Or just go for the traders, but don't expect a cheap deal for it...

This game is must have (incomparable better than second one), for me - best game ever.
But it is pointless to pay so much money (I saw traders that want for it something like 60 TF2 keys - circa 100 dollars) for it only to have it on steam... Just buy physical copy for few bucks

You missed the boat to get it on Steam. The game was pulled, I think because of some licencing issue.

I was lucky enough to get it from Amazon last Christmas for $4.99 before they realised they weren't supposed to be selling it. I don't think anyone is selling it digitally now. Your only chance is to buy a physical copy or pay through the nose to a trader.

Simply download it. It is one of the best games I have ever played, Illusion Softworks studio (devs) is gone anyway.

Nah ? They still exist but changed their name to 2K Czech. It's not on Steam because they didn't renew the licenses for the music.

Yes they changed name, but most people retired - into Bohemia interactive, Warhorse studio or others

Illusion Softworks is 2K Czech. Which means 2K Games and Take Two Interactive are the holders of the IP. See here:

Not so much. So much people (especially main director Dan Vavra) retired, and now they work in other indie studios (Warhorse studio, Bohemia interactive etc.)

Unfortunately, the IP is owned by Take Two Interactive ( which, btw, is the same company that OWNS Rockstar, Firaxis, Irrational Games and 2K Marin ). And most of the staff that worked on the original Mafia was long gone when Mafia 2 came out.

And, yeah, the original Mafia was way better. But again, everything that Illusion Softworks did was. Hidden and Dangerous or Vietcong are still some of the best games that the czechs gave us.
