Uncut Gems (2019)
American crime thriller film. Rewatched this yesterday and it's still really good!

RRR (2022)
Indian epic action drama film. Sure, this could've been a two-parter, but I liked it like this too. One 3 hour movie. Does it need to be 3 hours long? Absolutely. There's a lot of story to tell. There are song and dance numbers, but they're never just there. They're part of the story. Apart from the one at the very end maybe but I feel like after THAT movie they deserve a song and dance number just for the sake of it. Most of the VFX are really good. So entertaining, it doesn't get boring for over 3 hours. Of course a lot of the action is over the top but that's what you want with a movie like this. I'm not much of an action movie fan but this one is absolutely worth the watch! Highly recommended!

A Fish in the Bathtub (1998)
American comedy film. It's about an old couple who split. And that's basically it. The best thing about this movie is the cast (Jerry Stiller, Anne Meara, Mark Ruffalo and more). The performances feel pretty realistic. I mean Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara were married in real life for over 40 years already at that point, so of course they can play husband and wife in a movie like this. Overall good performances but the movie is not really anything memorable.

Eat Locals (2017)
British vampire film. It's a fun little vampire movie with a good cast (Dexter Fletcher, Mackenzie Crook, Charlie Cox, Freema Agyeman, Annette Crosbie, Tony Curran, Eve Myles and more) and a 90 minute runtime. Sure, it might not be the best, but it's still very entertaining.

Spiderhead (2022)
American science fiction thriller film. It's about a prison where the inmates can volunteer in being experimented on with research chemicals to get their sentences reduced. It's a really interesting concept, sadly the movie doesn't really deliver. Good cast though (Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and more) but the movie itself wasn't as good as it could've been.

X (2022)
American slasher film. Really good gore and the movie definitely has a 70s style to it. Surprisingly good performances, overall just a very good slasher. Recommended! And if I didn't already have other plans I'd watch XX (2017) tomorrow and XXX (2002) the day after. Well, maybe if I rewatch this.

Felt like an overblown Michael Jackson video whenever they walked on the light up floor, huh?
Yeah, Avatar was bad.So bad that at one point it was the #1 worst movie I have ever seen. Then I saw the 2016 Ghostbusters and it became the #2.

Planet Terror (2007)
American action horror film. I did enjoy Death Proof (2007) when I watched it a week ago but this one is even better. Very gorey, lots of melting faces and bodies, car crashes and cut off balls all around. At its core it's a zombie movie but it's so much more. Overall it's a extremely entertaining homage or hommage to old low-budget Grindhouse films of the 70s and 80s. It definitely has a b-movie feel to it, but it's supposed to. I can absolutely recommend this one if you haven't seen it already!

Thor Love and Thunder.
JUST got home. It was REALLY good. It had it's flaws, yes, but what movie doesn't? It wasn't as funny as Ragnarok but it was still just as good.
No spoilers, but you do NOT want to miss the mid and end credit scenes.
8/10
Edit- As much as I HATE Christian Bale as he usually ruins movies, even I MUST admit that he KILLED it as Gorr the God Butcher, no pun intended. And Russel Crowe as Zeus just felt SO right.

Symbol (2009)
Japanese fantasy comedy film. I... don't even know how to describe this one. It starts off in Mexico (yes, you heard me right) where we see a normal family, apart from the dad who eats breakfast in his wrestler outfit. Soon a foul-mouthed nun arrives and drives him to the town where he's gonna have his next big wrestling match. That's one of the stories in this movie. The other one is about a guy who wakes up in a white room with weirdly shaped buttons in the wall (which are actually little cherub dicks and no, I'm not making this up) and while at first these stories don't seem related at all, the further you get into the movie the closer intertwined they get. So whenever the guy presses one of the buttons something happens. Sometimes random object are thrown into the room (like a big vase, sushi, a bonsai tree, random gadgets, furniture and lots more). But then one button opens a door on the other side of the room, which of course he can't reach in time. Now he has to really work to escape. Press one button to get this to be able to do that to press this button to press that one and get to that one and on and on and on. It's fun to watch and kinda silly but later on we find out that the buttons don't only do things inside of this room. And the ending is very much on par with the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), which I definitely didn't expect. There are lots of different interpretations of this movie flying around on the internet but it's best if you just watch it for yourself and make your own. I might have to rewatch this one some time to really understand it. But where else do you have fart jokes and deep existential dread in one movie? Overall this is a great movie and one that really makes you think. Highly recommended!

The World's Fastest Indian (2005)
New Zealand biographical sports drama film. It's about speed bike racer Burt Munro and his highly modified 1920 Indian Scout motorcycle in which he set numerous land speed records. Very good performances by everyone, but of course Anthony Hopkins (who plays the main character) does stand out. Overall a very enjoyable feelgood movie that I can definitely recommend.

Memories of Matsuko (2006)
Japanese musical comedy drama film. At the beginning we follow Sho, a young guy who's girlfriend just broke up with him because he's too boring. Later his father visits him with the ashes of Sho's aunt Matsuko who he never knew about. From then on we switch between the present, focussing on Sho and flashbacks of Matsuko's tragic life leading up to her murder. It's sometimes funny, sometimes sad, overall very touching. You just get so invested in Matsuko's life, it's really touching. Highly recommended!

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007)
French biographical drama film. Based on Jean-Dominique Bauby's memoir of the same name, it's about Bauby's life after suffering a massive stroke that left him with a condition known as locked-in syndrome, where you're still fully aware but due to damage to your brain stem you're completely paralyzed apart from vertical eye movements and blinking. So in this movie Jean-Dominique Bauby (or Jean-Do how his friends call him) is played by Mathieu Amalric who delivers a fantastic performance. The first third of the movie is shown from Jean-Do's point of view, which has a crazy effect of completely immersing you in this movie. Never seen anything like this, especially not to this extent. Later on the movie does look a lot more like you'd expect but those first 40 minutes or so are... peculiar. So earlier I mentioned that with locked-in syndrome you still can move your eyes and blink. And that's exactly what Jean-Do does to write his memoirs, which is an immense feat in and of itself. And the real Jean-Dominique Bauby did just that and this movie is based on those memoirs. Overall a really powerful movie. Highly recommended!

Here we go, I'll start.
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010) - This movie is a joke. At first it's interesting, then it's boring and then it's just funny/pathetic. And they put it in a "horror" genre. Words are not sufficient. Nosferatu is turning in his grave. 3/10
