Nah, doesn't work. I tried. So you need to either add them on steam, explain and give them the gift link, or write them an email with the gift link. :)

Someone who won one of my GAs complained about having to use IGS to claim it (despite me warning them about this in the description...), so I tried using an alt to get the key to give to them. It let me claim the IGS link, but I get a vague error message when I try to claim the Steam key. I contacted support but they're probably going to see what I was doing and deny me the key. What a mess.

Also worth mentioning that IGS doesn't guarantee their Steam keys in any sense. Their refund policy is basically "If the key works, you can't refund it because now you have the game. If the key doesn't work...tough luck."

Edit: Since OP is directing people to this comment now, let me clarify: IGS does not want or allow you to personally have access to multiple Steam keys, even if you buy multiple gift copies. They intend for you to send out gift links, which seem to require an IGS account to redeem. They may be working to block workarounds.

Edit 2: So I got a reply from support. Apparently, if you use a temporary email service (I used Guerillamail) to register an account, you cant claim Steam keys. Luckily, you can change your email address.

I got it for free anyway, so i dont see any difference

the game is pretty popular and for good reasons... tomorrow i'll have surgery so i'll take a day off, hopefully in around 24 hours they give me the key i paid for :P
