Sweet. A Humble Game per week and hopefully still normal Humble Bundles - the site gets better and better. Humble Bundle is still the best when it comes to that.

Already have Bastion from a previous Humble Indie Bundle. It's an amazing game. Every single person should at least try it. (Buy the soundtrack too. It's great!)

I wonder if they add bonus stuff later on, like they do with regular bundles.

on a WEEKLY sale.. probably not. Plus the bonuses and such are pretty nice. I own Bastion twice and I'm tempted to buy it again for the ringtones and stuff.

Is Bastion good?

I played the demo. It's good if the narration doesn't bother you. I gave a copy away a while back because I didn't think I'd play it all the way through. I might get it for $1 though.

The narration is one of the best parts of the game.

it's a pretty fun game with flexibility. You get a bunch of weapons and they're all equally powerful. You can scale the difficulty. it's all kinda of fun

It was one of my favorite games I played last year. I played it through from start to finish 3 times in a row. I never do that!

So, it seems like this is on its way to sell more copies than all the games that were featured on IGS in total. I don't know how to feel about that.

Well Bastion is a better game than most (maybe all?) of the games that have been on Indie Game Stand.

More like Bastion is among of the best games to have been in any bundle.

That's true too.

No it's not. Gameplay becomes boring after a while. I personally have enjoyed he Journey Down more than Bastion, but I can see why some people would consider Bastion a good game.

Permalink

But with the lenght of the Journey Down, it is obviously not going to get boring that easy.

My point was that gameplay in Bastion gets bopring, whereas a funny point and click adventure still manages to have better gampeplay even though an adventure game's gameplay is slower paced than that of Bastion. It was an analogy.

Not saying Bastion is a bad game; just that I didn't find it as good as other people did. great visuals and story plagued with such boring gameplay...

I think that what makes bastion possibly boring for some is the way they play the game. I used a large number of weapons (and combinations) as I went on and it made the game quite fresh each time.

Well, it's true taht what bring the most magic in the game is the narration and coloruflness.

You know, I kind of think that if Humble guys were selling, like, And Yet It Moves, it would sell the similar amount. Bastion sure does deserve the sales it gets, but I think it wouldn't sell nearly the same amount of copies if it were featured on IGS.

Sad... Many IGS games were very very nice...

If they really do keep this a weekly thing I don't know how I feel about it. This means a lot of people will be able to get their contributions a lot higher than what they've actually put into it and while that's fine sometimes I feel like it's cheating the system a bit.

But maybe not and maybe it's fine and nobody cares. I guess we'll all get the chance to enter and win wave after wave after wave of games we may like once the weekly deals are released.

Are you really worried because they will buy it and give it away?

What's the matter anyway?
