I'm relatively new here and haven't created any giveaways yet. But with how some things worked out recently, I do have a few things that I will probably want to give away sooner or later. So I was wondering if I could get a few clarifications on creating giveaways and sending games.

1) Is a giveaway for the full bundle of the Indie Royale Graduation bundle allowed? I have an extra URL that I haven't even visited yet, so the bundle should be completely intact. If it is allowed, how do I do it when it's not in the giveaway creation list? (Most Royale bundles aren't, actually.) Will it be added soon, do I just wait for that?

2) To "Send gift..." a Steam inventory game, do I need the recipient's e-mail address, does he/she need to be a friend, online at the same time as me, or what? I understand things like keys can be e-mailed, but how does it work when trading within the Steam system? I'm sure it's simple, but I've never done it before.

3) Are giveaways of extra The Ship keys from the Indie Royale Graduation bundle allowed? I know there's been talk about this, and my understanding is that it's OK now because the bundle sale is over and these extra keys were given to buyer specifically to give away. However, I would like to be completely sure before I make any submissions on this.

So yeah, if I could get a little help on these points, I should be set to create some giveaways. I haven't decided for sure how many or when, but since I have won a game already, I do want to give back a bit. And now that I have a few extras I can do that with, I'm looking to make sure I do it right. Thanks for your help!

  1. Yes, absolutely. If it's not on the giveaway list, please make a Support ticket to request it. We haven't kept up with bundles properly.

  2. You can send either via e-mail or friend them on Steam and gift directly to their account. It's up to you. Personally, I prefer the slightly more personal touch of friending them, even if I remove them after I've sent it. I never send keys over e-mail. I need to know they recieved it, so I wait until I'm actively talking to them before giving winners a key.

  3. Yes, they are.

I hope that answered all of your questions. If you have any more, please don't hesitate.

While I cant answer points 1 and 3 confidently, point 2, I can answer.

You only need the email address, which will appear as soon as your giveaway ends. Some people prefer to chat with whoever wins first, to make sure they confirm receipt of the gift. It's up to you discretion as to how to go about with gifting your item.

EDIT: Ninja'd by falcon! Dang support! Lol

I was wondering why I saw your name as the last post on my ticket, but the reply is by Hichigo. I guess there was some odd overlap as you both replied at once and the system got confused.

Thanks for the quick response. My reply was delayed a bit because I went to bed right after I posted this. :) I should be good on points 2 and 3 now, and I'll go ahead and submit a support request for point 1 as thejadefalcon suggested. Thanks for your help!

Do we need to do that for forum posts? I thought that was only needed for support tickets.

No of course not. But I'd like it if people don't bring the topic back to top by writing a new comment :3
