i'd say either way, use it at your own risk. it's not worth losing your entire steam account over a game that isn't even that great to begin with. better safe than sorry in my opinion.

You have some proof of that? Some scan or whatever? If you do, feel free to activate it.

Either way, nothing bad will happen. If it's a bad code Steam will just deactivate the game from your account.
Nothing to honestly risk. All the "oh steam will ban you" is just fear mongering.

I am pretty sure they deactivated all those leaked codes, so they just didnt work anymore. So if it works I think it will be legit (?)

If the code he gave is the one that's on the AMD promotion coupons, then it's useless as they require you to scan the coupon now...

leaked codes are blacklisted and will be removed from your account without further notice. your account wouldn't be in danger, though

I recieved my Dirt 3 code for steam after 1.5 month letters exchanging with support. It was good quest for free.

my cousin activated his legit AMD promo key recently. no problems so far... or tht is what he is telling me and seeing as I see him play it, don't think it has been removed. of course you never know :(
