heh... I didn't manage to practice my fasting before this, so the first week is kicking my butt. The end of the month of Ramadhaan is always so bittersweet.... )

And I'm not at all religious. My parents chose to let me choose what I wanted. I'm atheist :p - I don't believe in any god. But I respect those having that belief that there is a superior entity (called God, Allah, Yahvé or any other name you may give). It's just that I wish that there weren't extremists in all religions that make people fear and misunderstanding each other. Like in any community in other words.
And yes, I've been confronted to people doing Ramadan - they always answered me when I had a question about some situations (like if you're sick for example) without judging me or me judging them :).

I'm agnostic, but as I like to wish people Merry Christmas, I don't mind wishing you guys Happy Ramadan (if a period when you can't eat or have sex can be in any way happy :P )

I think spiritually fulfilling would probably be a better way to describe it than being happy, but there's nothing wrong with wishing someone positive fortunes.

Good point. Now that I think about it, we Muslims don't say "Happy Ramadhaan," we say "Blessed Ramadhaan" or "A generously-giving Ramadhaan" (approximate translations).

Translations are always a funny thing like that. I always got a giggle out of signs in Okinawa, wishing people a Happy Merry Christmas!

Believe me, there's a rule that Muslim wishing Merry Christmas is a forbidden thing to the point it's an offense here. Not here in SG, but here in my place. Just feel that when you're on the receiving end (I'm Catholic myself).
Not to mention people getting bullied for selling food. I'd cite a source but it is in my native language so you folks might not be able to understand.
For me, this month is so cancerous I just hate it.
