So, should I wait to see if it gets an even bigger discount or do you think it will cap at 75%?

Wait for a bigger discount
Don't bother waiting, the price won't get any lower than that?

That's about as good as it gets.
It's been cheaper before, but probably not that significant of a difference to wait for it.

I think it was 75% off at GMG, but there was also some coupon that you could put in for another 25% off, making it $20.
$25...$20... not that big of a difference. So may not be necessary to wait.

imo you should wait, it's gonna be 75% until the end so it might (or not) get a bigger discount

Thanks, but I will probably not wait

I think you should. As faboitas said, you still have 10 days to buy it 75% off, that's not a long time to wait to make sure you don't get a better deal.

You could wait, just make sure to drop by the store page of the game you want to buy and see when the offer ends. I plan to do that with Dank souls

Sorry for hijacking this topic, but I had a question concerning Valve pack for a long time already. Do you get games you don't own as gifts or this pack adds to library only games you don't own without dropping gift copies?

As for topic: I would wait. The current price won't become bigger until the end of sale.

If i remember correctly when you are buying a pack steam will tell you if you receive or not copies of the games.

It's only for VERY specific cases where you get gift able copies of games if you buy a steam-made bundle and already own some of the games. I believe there is an answer to this somewhere on steam's FAQ, along with the specific instances.

last time i checked only games from valve will provide extra gift copies from opening a pack, there are also a few other exceptions like flatout (i think) but in most cases steam won't provide gifts copies for owned games from opening packages
but for you it will because is a valve pack
source (check first question, line C)

Thank you for the info! As I understood only HL2 and HL2E1 can be given as gifts if you already own them. All other games aren't eligible. Sad.
I'll wait for a lower price and may be will buy it in the very end of the sale. Not sure about buying yet with such conditions.

you are right, i didn't read it right at first but it seems that only HL2 and hL2E1 provide extra copies, i remember like a year ago any valve games would provide extra copies
shame on valve, again!

Well, I activated that pack while owning both Portal games and I got both in my inventory.

May be Portal games are added - I can't check it because don't own them... But additional copies of l4d, l4d2 and HL2DM aren't given :( as in my case when I try to add them to cart And it matches the description from the link that only some HL2 games are promoted.

Add the pack you want to the cart and at the beginning of the checkout you are told what you do and don't receive additional copies for. It's actually easier and more convenient than you could think.

Yes, I just checked it - true. Still it gives the same result as in the link

Yes, but at checkout it shows it for all packs, not just the Valve Complete Pack, which is nice :D

No need to wait now that you've got refunds, just avoid playing your stuff for more than 2h total

Worst case scenario, you can always ask for a refund and re-buy it at the lower price (assuming you don't play any of the games for more than 2 hours or the price goes down before the 2 week period)

you have none of main games from this pack (HL1/Source, HL 2, Portal 1, Portal 2, L4D2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive). all are great so in total 18€ is a very fair price.
also you will get two add-ons for HL1 and two for HL2 (if you like base games). Team Fortress 2 is free anyway.

the rest ot these games (L4D1, older Counter Strike) are just steps back or they are more or less trash today.

if you "like to keep everything to steam" as you said, then you can't expect a larger discount than 80% but probably this will not happen. if few bucks doesn't play a great matter for you then just buy this pack and enjoy it. there's a tons of hours to play and good stories there :)

Yes, I don't have any of the games in the pack.
I would like to try a lot of them and I want to put a lot of time on some of them, that's why I want the pack :)

so this is pack for you :)

alternatively I can recommend you to buy Orange Box http://store.steampowered.com/sub/469/ and Half-Life 1 Anthology http://store.steampowered.com/sub/40/
6,24€ in total !

you will save a lot of money and in that way you only skip Portal 2 (probably best single player game in pack, of course all are good/great) and also CS:GO and L4D2 (L4D1 is included in its sequel).
also L4D2 was given for free by Steam and this will be repeated eventually. someday...

if you want you can just manually add L4D2 to shopping basket http://store.steampowered.com/app/550/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1 only 2,79€.
Then you will get almost everything from Valve Complete Pack for only 9€ /$ and hey, thats only half cut of 18€. :)

in my opinion you can skip Counter-Strike series (for now). not popular opinion maybe but these are really specific games, strictly online and teamwork based. Not for everyone, for sure not for me. and of course every newer part is incarnation of all its predecessor so mostly this is the same game but with better graphic, new maps and what else ;p
The biggest loss here is Portal 2 but all the rest of them (L4D1, both Day of Defeat, Ricochet, DM Classic and whatever else) today are just a postcard from the past.

in brief: buy Orange Box, HL1 Anthology and if you want to, L4D2 or any other game single (Portal 2 or Counter-Strike pack too).
you may save few or even ~9€/$.
maybe I'd advise you something useful or maybe full Valve Pack is just everything you need. anyway - happy playing :)

But I do want the three games I'll be missing out on... I really want to try Portal 2, play L4D2 with my brother and play CS:GO, so I guess Valve Complete Pack is my best guess then!
Also, thanks a lot for all this info, I did not expect i would get this much help from someone about this :)

my pleasure to help you :)
so, then, buy it at once or wait to the end of the sale, even if this price will not be better for sure you will have another chance to spend 18€ for this package.

If you want to pay less wait until a better deal or if not, the 17.99€ will still be here on the last day of the sales, so don't be stressed about it

I'd say just wait it out. It will be 75% off until the end of the sale anyway so why rush. There's always a chance that Valve's title might come out in the Daily Deals.

I'm pretty sure you can buy the pack, and if it goes on a larger sale you can go to the refunds page and select the "the game is cheaper now" option.
