Duke Nukem 3D is on Steam, Should I get it? (EDIT: I bought it :D )

yeah, But since I never played it I don't know if the game is good

even if you have the gog version might as well get it coz it has all the 3 dlcs and crap

getting it in a few days :P

Yeah, obviously everybody knows that gaming companies buy the rights for a game just for fun and if the dev team is not a part of the company anymore we're not obliged to pay them any money whatsoever. Perfect logic right?

Gearbox (who now own Duke) only own the rights to DNF and future Duke games. They do not own the rights to the previous games. Chances are though that a very small, and I mean VERY small portion goes to 3DR and most goes to DD.

I wouldn't say "without difficulty" in the case of the Steam OpenGL version. The way they have the expansion detection set up, any local CON files override the expansions completely. You have to insert CONs directly into the base GRP file to get them to play nice. Of course this doesn't apply to the supplied "classic" version, which can be modded to your heart's content.
