HDDs have nothing to do with the RAM memory. What you're seeing there is a stupid recommendation for a minimum system configuration that has nothing to do with the HDD itself. A perfect example of how misleading store specs can become when they start combining apples with oranges and listing them as grapes.

oh btw the thing does not come with cables so are the cables that are needed packaged with the MOBO and the Power Supply?

Yes, the cables should come with the MB and the PS. But make sure the models you choose have enough connectors to allow further upgrades in the future (the more, the merrier).

+1
DDR3/DDR4 is RAM, which has nothing to do with the HDD/SSD. They are completely separate parts.

If you don't need a lot of space consider an ssd :p

I think it's just a misunderstanding. Indeed you don't need any more drive to complement SSD, but if it's for your system only (which he assumes also includes personal data).
I definitely need normal HDD (1 TB minimum) to hold my regular data. Let's assume SSD tech has 1, 2 or even 4 TB size, but what about the price? I doubt it's cheap enough for my taste.

I was only being half serious with my answer. That guy is known for just commenting about tech stuff while he obviously has no idea what he is talking about and annoys me.
But yea it does depend a lot of on the person how much they need so saying there is no exceptions is kinda ridiculous. If you don't need anymore than 250-500GBs and can afford an SSD that size, it doesn't make much sense to buy an additional HDD (unless for backup).
Also that screenshot is just from my laptop I have been using for the past couple of weeks while abroad. I am a little bit of a data hoarder otherwise and have about 14TB in raw and about 8TB in usable HDD space back at home.

Double check to make sure the Mobo comes with SATA cables, they usually do but if they don't you'd really need one ^^
(they are about $3 each)

I usually do the same but my good cables were blue and my new pc is all black and grey, so i used the black sata cables that came with the mobo. at least they stress test well enough for hdds ^^
The things we do when we put a window in our PC.. =/

Hey TC, I don't know about your knowledge or whatever, but from your first post, I have this doubt (sorry) that you can assemble this system well. You might want to seek a friend that can give you on-site advice before buying. Yes, forum like this can give you advice, but they can't give you real-time advice.

HDD is a type of harddrives.
Harddrive are used to store your data.
DDR3 and DDR4 are called RAM or temporary memory. They are used by applications for informations that are needed right away but will be purged when the application close or when your computer shut down.
DDR4 is the newer generation of RAM, so it's faster but you need to make sure your motherboard is compatible with it(in your info it's the DDR4 MOBO, it just means the motherboard is compatible with DDR4).
The ryzen 1500x is a CPU, basically the brain of the computer. It being DDR4 just means it's DDR4 compatible too.
I suggest you to find someone that is knowledgeable in computer hardware to help you choosing a computer that is properly built and balanced for your needs.

Im looking to buy a DDR4 MOBO and a DDR4 Ryzen 1500x but on the amazon site for the storage i want says that the WD 1 TB HDD is DDR3
What does it mean when a HDD is ddr3?
Can it even be DDR4?
Does it matter?
Even if it is DDR3 can i still use it on my DDR4 Rig?
