I'm planing to do some giveaways for xmas and was curious about using sg tools.
I've seen others say that they will check winners that don't go through the sg tools check before sending out the keys so wanted to know how do you do that?
And also i just want basic rules, do i need to configure anything?
Sorry, just not good with these script stuff so any help would be very helpful, thanks.

Do you use sg tools?

Nope too lazy
POTATO

You click on the arrow next to the giveaways button and chose "Manage Giveaways" there you can select one of your GAs and check the valid and invalid entries.
Edit: I'm refering to the SGtools menu, not here.

Create your giveaway and copy its URL then go to SGTools > Giveaways > Manage and paste the URL in the "Create Giveaway" box and click "Create". That will take you to the page where you can assign rules. Since you're only interested in basic rules those are listen on the right under "Rules", all you have to do is tick boxes.

Under "Manage Giveaways" it will show you your "Open" and "Finished" giveaways, click on one of your giveaways and you'll be taken to the page where you can edit giveaway filters and check valid, invalid and all entries to your giveaway, they are all big green buttons so you can't miss them.

If you have more questions feel free to ask.

To add to the above comments:

Valid Entries lists the users who used the filter while the giveaway was still active, and is generally the only one you'll need to reference. All Entries includes users who entered through the filter after the giveaway ended, and Invalid Entries lists the users who entered the giveaway, but did so without bypassing the filter. Using ctrl+f with your winner's name on the Valid Entries page is generally the easiest and most reliable approach to checking entries.

Invalid Entries lists the users who entered the giveaway, but did so without bypassing the filter.

Don't invalid entries list people who DID bypass the filter by not going through SGTools?

While Bypass is primarily used to indicate "going around or circumventing something", it can also just mean "to go past something [without stopping/being stopped by it]". I was meaning the latter usage, I apologize for the confusion. In other words "users who entered the giveaway, but did so without passing through the filter.", was the intended meaning.

The others explained much so i not do it a second time.

But i can add a bit.
You can check your winners of "open for all" and "group/WL" GA's too with sgtools.

http://www.sgtools.info/activation
http://www.sgtools.info/multiple-wins

There you see if they broke sg rules. When yes write the support and please for a reroll.

That make it a bit better with the "right" winners :o)
(i never give anything out without at least this check -or sgtools protection-)

"Nope too lazy" is a loaded poll answer. I don't use SGT, not because I'm 'too lazy', but because I'm against it in general.

Just wondering why?

I disapprove of adding subjective barriers to the site's universal rules. It's the same reason I dislike blacklists (I know whitelists and private group are technically 'reverse blacklists' but in practice they include rather than exclude people). But at least blacklists are two-way now, so that restricts their use. SGT is pretty much a massive, one-way blacklist against everyone that doesn't fulfill specific criteria, and thanks to the amount of customization - and ability to hide rules, even - it pretty much allows total control. Again, for whitelists and groups, at least you choose who to let in - with SGT everyone that doesn't pass are automatically kept out.
