It's not like it's a big loss or anything but it kind of makes me feel a wee bit stupid. The one thing I am beating myself up about forgetting to actually buy is the Humble Overwhelmingly positive bundle. Although looking back at it now I've been able to obtain almost everything I wanted at decent prices anyway :)

Yep, other than the latest Be Mine, they've all been pretty lackluster.
And with so many competing bundle sites, it's getting easier and easier to pass on some of the "not so good" ones.

I think I'll pass on pre-order this time. I already have Orion Trail, and while I love the artwork and concept of a "sci-fi Oregon Trail" it was a bit of a disappointment gameplay-wise. There is not enough weight given to player-controlled resource allocation, so it kind of feels like you are just throwing dice without having any real control over the consequences and outcome of the game.

We're getting awfully few hints for a Remute bundle this time, that doesn't fill me with confidence ....
I've usually liked Remute's game picks, and I've loved that he usually gives so many hints, but I think I'm gonna have to pass this time as well (Orion Trail will be bundled again anyway, right?). Spent most of my September budget already anyway, really need to stop with the shitty bundles.

Well, if we're going the totally honest route, I'd put it like this -
Groupees bundles lately are like digging through shit to find the shiniest piece of shit.

I say why bother. You think anyone there actually cares about you or the consumer?? The only thing they care about is money money money and honesty or integrity means nothing to them. Companies that are respectable embrace those ideals or at the very least those that are smart pretend to and put on a good face, whether just for positive PR or otherwise. Groupees on the other hand is just another soulless corporation that is looking to screw you as hard as possible and they don't even try to obfuscate it anymore, as evidenced by what they have done over these past years. And anyone who works for them is contributing to that and has their hands tainted as well. Sending someone death threats would be stepping over the line (just as it was for Digital Homicide even though they are/were douchebags) but any and all criticism is fair game.

That's all fine and good but sometimes what is needed and what is justified is the opening of people's eyes to what is going on, even if it they foolishly take it as an offense to their fanboyism. Speaking of which, fanboyism is a mentality that does no one any good and only serves to give someone else power and leverage over you. Don't drink the kool aid people and never support something blindly or without calculated thought, regardless of who or what it is.
