Is there any way to know how much a game is worth in points before creating the giveaway?

Look at the store price in the USA Steam store.

The point system on SG is based off of US dollars purchase amount on the Steam store. So say a game is $14.99 it's going to be 15 points on SG, $4.99 than it will be only 5P. With a new update SG has now maxed the point value to 50P so even if a game is $59.99 it will only be 50P on SG.

Hope this helps you :)

If you are talking about the amount of contributor value you receive for giving it away, that is based off the full US retail price on Steam and whether the game has been bundled, highly discounted, or free in the past. If the game has been bundled or discounted around 95% or more off, you will receive 15% of the retail price instead of the full amount. If the game has ever been given away for free in the past, you will not receive any credit.

When you create a giveaway, there will be 1 red asterisk next to the name of the game if it gives bundle value or 2 red asterisks if it has been free and gives no value. If the game has recently been bundled or free, this info may not have been updated on the site yet and you may temporarily receive full value for giving away that game, but when the game gets added to the bundle list, it will be dated back to when it was bundled and everyone that created a giveaway for the game after that point will have the value they received drop down to the correct amount of 15% (or 0% if it was free).
