So 5 days ago my giveaway for Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 (2 copies) ended and I emailed out the codes. One of the winners confirmed the code by the morning of the next day, but the second winner used the code (the game is in their steam library now) and has yet to confirm the code delivery. I'm not sure what to do about it. I've opened a support ticket (2 days ago) but they still haven't gotten back to me. I'm not going contact the individual because I'll just end up cursing the a-hole out. I can't even request a new winner because the jerk used my code. Can a moderator just give me the credit?

Have you thought about contacting the winner?

probably wrong, but I thought you have to wait a week before re rolling reporting or contacting support?

he probably forgot he had to come back and mark it or something(has he won before? maybe he thinks its automatic once redeemed), try sending a message.

Fair enough guys, I guess I take it for granted that people know what they're doing. I emailed the individual, I bet he still doesn't do anything. I'll wait a day before going apeshit. Any longer than that and I'll be pissed because this guy goes on daily.

On a side note, this site should probably get a PM system, having to email or add the person to give/receive codes is a pain. Also, someone could claim that they haven't checked their email and we can't disprove them, but this site says the last time they are online so they can't lie about not checking messages on this site. Also, moderators could look at PMs to confirm whether or not a key was sent through their PM system. If a mod or admin are reading this, consider it.

Just wait for the Support ticket, they can give you credit - make sure you give them proof. Don't expect Support to be instantaneous - you already made a Support ticket, so just have patience.

You should contact the 2nd winner and remind him to check the YES button. If he refused, just report him to Steam Support with proof for your code, they might teach that guy a lesson (revoke the game but you won't have your code back I guess)

"just report him to SteamGIFTS with proof for your code"-this site has nothing to do with steam. You want to confuse the users, don't you :P

No, I don't want to confuse anyone. But if you want to revoke a games from somebody's account, you have to contact Steam Support, they will not give you a new key but at least the bad guys got punishment, that might teach him a lesson.

Why in fuck would Steam Support do that for someone? What on earth do they have to do with Steamgifts? Also, they won't accept any form of "proof" anyway. What a dumb piece of advice.

Just send them a polite email asking them to confirm, no need to rage at them about it. I did that when someone "forgot" and they confirmed not long after.

If they still don't confirm after that then you know they're being a t**t.

I'm in a similar situation. After waiting a week+ and trying to contact the winner more than once to remind him to mark it as received (and being thoroughly ignored), I ended up sending a support ticket. Still waiting for a reply.

Also, don't expect your cont. value to go up, even if they confirm it since you've been giving away bundle keys, just a friendly reminder.

I'm not sure I understand. Why wouldn't my value go up? Regardless of where I got the game from, it is worth what it's worth.

Nope.jpg

Bundle games only count as max 20% of non bundled games given, after $30 of course. I forget the equation but I'm sure someone will post the link and the equation.

Link

No it isn't, since you might have purchased it at an extremely low price compared to "normal" games.

There you go OP. So no, since all your stuff is bundles, it won't go up.

So it gives me credit up to $30, then cuts me off? That isn't exactly fair either, considering that I paid some amount of money. It also saves the person receiving the game full value. There is little difference between me pay $25 for a bundle of 5 games and someone paying 75% off on steam sale and giving it away.

Like what, $1? I doubt you paid $25, seriously. When you give away nonbundled games you earn a percentage of your bundled games. If you look at my profile I've given a large amount of normal games. I do, however, receive full credit for bundle games since it's still less than 20% of what I've given.

I usually pay well above the average, especially if it includes a game that I was considering getting anyway. The way I usually calculate how much I pay is looking at the prices of the games that I'll actually play then give it a 60% discount.

For example, Humble Bundle 5, I wanted Amnesia, Bastion, Super Meat Boy, and Psychonauts. If I bought the games at full price then it would've been $60. If I apply the %60 discount then it comes out to $24, and that's what I paid. This is the way I normally purchase, but if it comes out to very little then I won't pay less than $10. I'm not an ass.

See below. While your internet words are nice, I don't believe it (internet and all and I don't personally know you). If I'm wrong, good on you and keep it up. You're doing a good thing.

While I did get these from bundles, isn't that policy a little unfair to people who bought the game at full price either before or after a bundle comes out?

Yes, it is, but it's the only way to address bundle farming/abuse to boost contributor for next to nothing. It's been talked to death and this is the best way to go about it. Point and case, my physical copy of Metro2033 is now just a collectors item in my inventory (bought it long before the explosion of free-ness).

If you create a giveaway before it becomes part of a bundle, it still counts as a non-bundle game as you can see in the link i posted earlier, if you create a giveaway afterward, it's just bad luck i guess, maybe take a look at the list of bundle games if you're really only interested in raising your value.

-edit- your math isn't right, most bundles cost like 6 euros/dollars, while the steamvalue of those games is 100-150.

No, because then you'd have everyone giving away tonnes of bundle games to inflate their contrib. value, therefore making it useless.

However, I think, if you did buy the game from the steam store for full price, and provide proof to support, they will give you face value for it.

Eh, I've heard that rumor but I don't personally believe it to be honest. Would be a lot of work on their end and a flood of tickets.

"..it is worth what it's worth."

You're funny. You spend a dollar on a bunch of games, and expect to get 20 or more dollars contributor value per game given away. It is indeed worth, what it's worth - hardly anything.

He might have forgotten or is new to the site. Remind him to log in and confirm that he received it by email. Try to be nice or you might end up making it worse. Wait for a day or two. The support might get your ticket by then, it takes time for them to get to all the tickets.

Have patience.

arent the game marked as recived after the week automaticly and then you can mark them as not recived?

No, the option of not received opens but it'll stay not marked unless you do something. That would be way too abuseable.
