Some interesting animes for otakus

The only anime worth watching is Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star)... :P

Black Lagoon is not bad as well. Or, if you fancy some weird, philosophical-metaphysical quite-nonsense, try Alexander.

Some of my all-time favourites are: Gankutsuou, MonsTer, Berserk, FLCL, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ergo Proxy and Elfen Lied.
As far as more recent-ish stuff goes, I'd absolutely recommend: Steins;Gate, Psycho-Pass and Requiem for the Phantom.

Fullmetal Alchemist (I mean the first, though I guess Brotherhood is fine as well.)
Trigun.
Darker Than Black.
Peacemaker.
Some other things... that often escape my mind, like right now.

Personally I like the whole guy saves girl anime but it HAS to have a lot of action, and very little brooding slash talking about feelings things.
