still havent gotten a response, so I'm asking you all.

Has anyone gotten Assassin's Creed Revelations to not even display a UPlay window? When I launch it on steam i get the preparing to play AC:R and then nothing, Windows loads for about three seconds then nothing. No uplay, no launch, no error, just steam.

I'm lost. I've uninstalled it all installed uplay separately, steam has installed it and nothing.

Revelent EDIT: taskmgr.exe registers ubisoft game launcher as loading, then force closes, no error, no crash. ubisoft logs show successful launch...

You didn't give an operating system.

Also I will note that going by what you listed your system is dangerously low on RAM. You should have more than 4 gigs installed on a 64 bit system with onboard graphics.

Say it is a copy of Windows 7 64-Bit, minimum requirements for that is 2 Gigs of RAM. Now you can look closer at it to make sure but if you're running 4 gigs with 1 gig dedicated from the system then you may be having memory issues POSSIBLY. Onboard graphics are always a pain so you can open up task manager and see if you have 3 gigs available or if it is less. If it is less the game could be failing to launch due to a lack of resources. If you can install more RAM, 4 Gigs is quite low for a 64-Bit System (You'd atleast want double what you'd aim for in a 32-bit build).

Windows 7 64-bit Home Edition.

P.S. Yeah It says "Windows loads for about three seconds"

Yeah, needed to know the actual version just to make sure it wasn't Vista.

I edited the post above but I'd make sure the settings aren't screwy on your RAM allocation. "2814 MB Dedicated graphics memory" seems a bit odd on a laptop card and if you're running on 4 gigs of RAM and its coming out of there then you've got big issues.

Oh, and as an FYI you can install up to 8 GB of RAM on Windows 7 64-bit Home Basic or 16 GB on Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium as long as the motherboard supports it.

RAM is all well and fine but its not the primary factor in this problem as chrome, steam and trillian all run fine. I've maxed my system before on the 4GB of ram, its not it.

Let's face it it's an ubisoft game, i should've known that it was crap drm.

bullshit. sorry to say that, but the game runs on weaker systems. 4 GB ram are just fine for now as most games can't even use more than 2-3 GB as most games are programmed for 32bit.

Ram? He's got 4 gigs, that's more than enough!

Edit I think the problem is the specs coupled with a "64-bit" system. 32-bit is generally better for gaming.

He many have 4 GB but he has a 64 bit OS.

And onboard graphics taking out a chunk of the little RAM he has. Below it is listed as:

Dedicated graphics memory 1024 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 1790 MB

And that setup would scare me running 64-bit under 4 GB.

All 3 of you should never post advice about tech problems again. You are totally clueless.

A 64-bit OS doesn't magically require more than 4 gigs of ram. 64-bit OS's have been around for much longer than you realize, and they got along fine with low amounts of memory. 32-bit OS isn't "generally better" for gaming. Win7 manages memory dynamically and a million times more efficiently than Vista or XP, so your experience in this area should be thrown out the window, and read up on Win7.

Ubi has shitty DRM and shitty programming, I would always investigate those first before chasing zebras about hardware.

In most situations the end user can't do anything about shitty programming themselves or solve DRM issues. Also if you're familiar with programming then you know exactly why a 64-bit system magically requires more RAM than a 32-bit system. Address buses, registers, and instructions will simply take up more space in memory on a 64-bit system. There is no avoiding this. Also please never say something like "Win7 manages memory dynamically and a million times more efficiently than Vista or XP" unless you want to post a benchmark with results a million times better, if you do this again a polar bear will be sent out to hunt you down.

If you want to learn more I recommend "Assembly Language for x86 Processors" by Kip Irvine. It will let you explore 16-bit, 32-bit, and 64-bit Assembly programming so you can learn the real limitations, advantages, and requirements for the differences between systems.

Yep, even I get scared running a 32 bit on 2 GB, much less 64 bit on 4.

In this case Roy, yes i believe it is shitty programming on Steam or Ubisoft's end, I have done the simple things, all of them. no need to flame.

You should have contacted Ubisoft support. Steam support can't help you with this. Had similar problems. Got it to work now. Try this.

Go to add or remove program and uninstall Ubisoft game launcher. Go to you Program files and delete the folder Ubisoft. Download the launcher from here and install it.

See if that solves the problem. I got it to work by just uninstalling and deleting the ubisoft folder. The correct files were downloaded when I ran the game.

...Most common problem for games not starting in Steam is the "It hasn't patched yet and you need to restart the Steam client" problem. If by chance you haven't closed and opened Steam when you installed, try it and see if updates start

I ran into this issue before. It's because Uplay is loading in the background and will not appear when you run the game. You have to end the Uplay process in your task manager. Once that is done, it'll appear when you run the game.

Although my Uplay process didn't appear then disappear shortly after.
