Are you excited for five-in-one GOG games, or will you wait for a bundle that offers Warlords Battlecry III rather than Warlords III?

I feel like all of these will be free on prime giveaways 😒

Checking Fantasy General (it was given for free) - I think it's ok-ish
For me the biggest problem is... why even bother? Fantasy General II, Panzer Corps 1 and 2, Order of Battle, Strategic Minds... there is SO many games from this genre with much better/upgraded mechanics that I'll probably die without finishing even half of them.

They're still enjoyable, if you like the genre. The games are simple enough to control that the interface, while somewhat old feeling, does not get in the way and is easy enough to learn. Out of the lot I think Fantasy General 1 is the one that feels the most unique compared to what's available today. Its sequel is quite good, but also very different in how it plays, so there's no direct counterparts to it. Star General was always the worst of the lot, and not a fantastic game and Pacific general is the most complex of the three and might take some getting used to, but it's a fun game. It's the one that is in most direct competition with its modern counterparts though.

Not my sort of games but I do like to see non Steam game bundles sometimes

I decided to buy tier 2 for $10. You have to link your GOG account to Humble, then you activate each game individually with their unique link. You do NOT get keys for games that you already own, so you can't trade them. For $10, i think the bundle is worth it if you like older DOS games like me. Overall, im happy that i purchased the bundle.

Blade of Darkness (Originally known as 'Severence') is one of my all-time favourite games older games, right alongside Startopia, Sacrifice, and Myth 2. Still good, though my nostalgia goggles of having loved them before they 'aged out' may mean they're pretty niche. If you have the GOG thirst though, they're good.
I would highly recommend buying any one of those games at full price TBH, but Blade of Darkness gets a special nod given how popular Dark Souls is, and this is pretty much the Dark Souls before Dark Souls. Admittedly if the control scheme wasn't updated somewhat then it might be jarring at first, but it was a fun romp.
Sacrifice is janky and difficult but one of the first instances of an RTS specifically played from the ground that comes to mind. The mechanic of having the sole resource being souls in a finite number really gave it a unique and rough battle of attrition feel. Definitely not for everyone.
And Startopia. My beloved. I will never sully your memory by playing the remake. I am faithful!
Myth 2 being a slow dark-fantasy RTS that sadly never got bought and pulled along into the GOG era.

What a mixed bag of a bundle. Some games in there have aged quite poorly, like Witchaven, some games that can still be enjoyable but their age shows, like Fantasy General, and a few games that still every much hold up (maybe not in the graphics department) and are a blast to play like Warlords 3

Only missing 3 titles on steam.
That's a good bundle value if you like GOG and miss most of the games.

Great bundle; bought it with no hesitation just for Veil of Darkness, Chasm: The Rift, Siege of Avalon: Anthology, and Blade of Darkness. Both The Summoning and Necrodome look kinda cool too.

Just FYI, for "The Summoning" you linked to the wrong Steam page, here's the correct one: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2414350/
