Don't use Windows 8, downgrade to Windows 7.

I doubt your problem is with Win 8, as both games run absolutely fine for me.

I have no problem running Trine on windows 8. I played it a couple of days ago actually. Darksiders however is another story.

I havent had any problem with w8 and i tend to play alot of indies up to BF3,

Tho i dont have those games you suggested.

I have yet to play a game that won't run on win 8.

Try to give more information when you say "do not run" it can mean a lot of things when troubleshooting

It it will run on Windows 7, it should run on Windows 8. They're basically the same operating system with different interfaces.

Trine works in Windows 8, I tried it yesterday. Not only that, in actual 3D too (via nVidia 3DTV Play).

Make sure you have DirectX 9.0c (w8 don't like old versions of DirectX). I think that Trine and X-Blades are probebly based on the old version.

Also make sure you have the correct framework versions installed (.net redistributable)

I got no problems with running games on Windows 8.

I'm using windows 8 pro and have no problems with the games.

I've had no problem with games on Windows 8, apart from Hotline Miami. It would always crash on chapter 10, but that was soon resolved. After that, I've had no problems with Windows 8. Try searching on online gaming forums to see if anyone else has experienced these problems.

Do not expect to play much games with that hardware, win8 is not a problem for games.
