Everyone seems to be using unoriginal and copyrighted work. Since this is a logo competition for games like worth 50 US $, shouldn't there be restrictions and only original art must be used?

All variations were made as vectors, i can edit and rescale them all as needed- its easy to make any tweaks if needed to.
Ive uploaded examples combining the pieces with photos as well, for the group avatar. Only the stars and earth photos in the examples weren't created by me.
Click on 'view full resolution' on the isolated logos, they're vectors but there was some leftovers without transparency so open them fullscreen to see them properly.

It's actually not my business, but looking at this thread I've the feeling OP might fall for some copy-paste dumbass. I hope I'm wrong on this one.
I know most people here never touched PS/AI in their entire live, not to speak of professional graphic design, but hell, a lot of stuff here is just blatant copy paste. People should at least make something from scratch instead of taking stuff from Google and mashing it up with some standard Windows font.
As an example, I pointed this out in a post below. #26228445

Nevertheless good luck to those, that provide original content. Keep it up, I see some potential talents here.

Also 10 simple guidelines you should know.

1. Don't scale images disproportionally. This is not how it's done.
2. Use PNG or at least uncompressed JPEG. If you use alpha channel, go with PNG(24). TIFF is also an option.
3. If you create a logo, you should always prefer vectors over pixels. A vector image is freely scaleable without loss of quality.
4. Colors are half the battle. You can use a color wheel like this one to find complementary colors.
5. Ridiculously huge borders, drop shadow and mirror effects are so last year. Please don't do that.
6. Don't use as many filters as you can fit in one image. Extreme contrast, negatives or overbrighting goes here as well. Just don't.
7. If you work with PS or any other image editor with layer support, then make use of them.
8. Use layer mask when cutting out. Pixelated/jagged edges aren't fancy.
9. Pick a theme, 2-3 colors and keep it simple. In this case you even already have a theme - space. I see some people are trying too hard, mixing everything together.
10. Last but not least, give credit where credit is due. If you HAVE TO copy-paste stuff from Google, at least be honest, don't sell it as your OC.
