I missed the start of the race unfortunately.
From what I saw Max was absolutely flying and matching the lap times of anyone and everyone. Was the ten second penalty justified?
Interestingly no one has predicted Räikkönen at any spot in the top 3.
Summer break now; Spa's next on August 27!

I think Verstappen's penalty was about right. While it was a racing incident, it was his mistake that forced Ricciardo to retire. Verstappen ran a bit wide on turn 1 and picked up some dirt on his left-hand tires, but tried to be late on the brakes into turn 3.
Räikkönen had a great race, much better pace than I expected! Although Vettel most likely couldn't show his best with his steering issue. I'm still wondering why they had to take Kimi in so early. I was following his lap times at the end of his 1st stint on super-softs and he was lapping a few tenths faster than Vettel on brand-new softs and matching Bottas who was also on fresh softs. He probably could have done at least another 2-3 laps without getting threatened by an undercut from Bottas. Again close opportunity missed by Kimi, he was so close to victory in Monaco as well. :/
Fair play by Hamilton for keeping his word and giving the position back to Bottas. I already expected to see him keep the 3rd and say it was too risky to swap back, but he and Bottas managed to get it done with a smart move.
Looking forward to Spa!

Hungarian Grand Prix
Bit late, sorry about that!
How it works
Predicting the winner would be much too easy in a field of twenty where only four drivers will likely contest most wins. To make things more interesting you will have to predict the top three finishers in the correct order and do so before the start of the qualifying session on Saturday.
Once the season has finished I will create a special winner's event for everyone with correct predictions for a shot at some nice games.
Race Preview
People with a penchant for hyperbole call this circuit "Monaco without the walls". That's way too much but all those corners do mean that raw power isn't going to be as important as on most circuits. This should make for an exciting race; Red Bull will be a lot closer to Mercedes and Ferrari and all the other teams will be close as well. As we've seen in the last half dozen races or so there's always something happening up front so who's going to be driving into who this time? ;)
