To be honest I wasn't a great fan of bioshock at the beginning, started the game multiply times but could never get around to finish it , but last week when i saw about the bioshock collection remaster I knew this is when I actually going to start the game, re-downloaded the 30GBs over 10 days, due the my terrible internet speed.

Even at first of this playthough, i wasn't enjoying my self at the beginning primarily becasue if the recurring enemies and such as such. But that was becasue i was NOT paying attention to the dialogues!! even when playing RPGs like skyrim and fallout, the never listen or read the dialogue, causing me to run around the place without knowing want to look for and what to do. Reading and listening in a video game is purely a pain for me, therefore i have always been focused on gameplay, which makes borderlands 2 my absolute favourite game.

but since didn't really enjoy the gun play in bioshock, well ,at least not to borderland's standard, i began to explore and i felt attach to the world of Columbia. esecially elizabeth. (little incident)- there was a group of people- men, women and child queuing to a ship looking to leave Columbia because there was a rebellion going on, i shoot them by accident with my fireball because i keep on forgetting that right click is not to aim - so basically I burned a group of innocent family alive by accident. At that point i felt terribly sorry and sad that I actually decided quit the game, watch a movie called Me Before You - which by the way is a amazing movie with one of my favorite actress in it before i finished grieving and got back into the game.

I feel so empty right now, i tried playing another game but i just couldn't, scrolling though my library and started a dozen of games i couldn't play any game for more than 10 minutes.

As for now, i am so looking forward to the bioshock remaster, saving my first playthough for that and the dlcs for that moment. Does anyone has any suggestions for now until the 15th of September?
finally, sorry for any bad English since this isn't my first language.

I really enjoyed BSI. For me it was always more a story about elizabeth than about your main character, which I felt was somehow beautiful. I was quiet pleased with the ending actually, I replayed the game after it and the whole story stayedwith me for a couple of days, but in the end i felt happy - not hollow :D
But I'm wondering, did you play the dlcs? Because BSI is not really the ending to elizabeth's story arc.
Well I - in contrast to popular opinions - enjoyed Infinite a lot more than the original game, but I'm als looking forward to replay BS1 with the remaster version.

And well, I felt always empty when I finish a dark souls game - the world always gets me somehow. If you haven't played the first game, yet, then I strongly recommend playing that one, especially as it doesn't focus on throwing a story at you, but rather let's you decide how much you want to explore about the game and its lore. So you can just enjoy the awesome gameplay! :)

I am looking to play bioshock remaster before starting on dlcs cuz I was told that it reveals many plant points from bioshock. But it totally sucks that It comes out when I have got to go back to my studies, hopefully I could pull out a day or two to complete the trilogy in one sitting :p

Here a first "yes" from me! That moment where the entire fucking story snaps together and you go "HOLY SHIT". Then you spend the next two days replaying the entire game in your mind and realize you missed lots of cool small details which all make sense in the end.

I know not everyone feels that way about Bioshock Infinite, and many say that the game was boring, that the story was "shallow" and unimpressive. Well, I, for one, loved it.

I know right!!!! I figured out that booker might be comstock from the conversation of many light house but the ending still hit me because I totally didn't expect Elizabeth was the one to kill him.

When i first tried BS i was not expecting much but i really got into the games. Infinite was not the same but i did enjoy it. Kinda sad now that i'm done with the games and every other game i really loved. Feels like i have nothing to fill the void anymore :/

Edit: You should give Metro 2033 another go and maybe get last light. Listen to the people in the metro and exploring that world is some of the best things i've done in a game.

I really want to:

  1. Play Bioshock 1 and 2 (can't because it constantly crashes on my computer)
  2. Finish Metro 2033 (can't because I can't beat that part where you have to protect your partner from acid bubble things)

In both cases, it sucks. These are great games. :(

I do have 2033 so will probably check it out again soon or later, when I first tried it I got kinda of scared from the under ground missions , I'll have to man up and try it again after hearing good things about metro.

Both Metro games are great! Also some people prefer the redux version of 2033 but i liked the old one more. But i guess if you want last light you could get both redux versions super cheap during sale/g2a etc and there is no reason not to even if you have the original.

"Reading and listening in a video game is purely a pain for me, therefore i have always been focused on gameplay, which makes borderlands 2 my absolute favourite game."
Odd you should say that, since the various audio messages etc. in Borderlands 2 are a big part of what sets the tone and makes it good.

"Does anyone has any suggestions for now until the 15th of September?"
Well, following from the above: Borderlands 2, but now paying attention to all the dialog instead of just followign the markers on the map and shooting everything in the face ?
Or Tales of the Borderlands, if you want to know what you've missed but don't feel like shooting everything and farming loot in the process.

You mean like Mr. Torgue?

"DID YOU KNOW THAT NINETY-SEVEN PERCENT OF ALL LIVING THINGS ON PANDORA AREN'T EXPLODING RIGHT NOW? THAT'S BULLSH*T, BUY TORGUE!"

"THE TORGUE SHAREHOLDERS WIRED MY VOICEBOX WITH A DIGITAL CENSOR SO I CAN'T SAY STUFF LIKE SH*T, C*CK, OR P*SSY-F*CKIN' D*CKBALLS. THAT'S LIKE HALF MY F*CKIN' VOCABULARY."

"THAT SENTENCE HAD TOO MANY SYLLABLES ! APOLOGIZE !"

But also the host of one-off NPCs like Face McShooty: "Maybe you're weighing the moral pros and cons but let me assure you that ...."

And Salvador's personal echo logs...
"
Judge Chavez: Salvador, for the murders of the men known as Bluntcrack, Crow, Friday, and Spitstain you will now be hanged by the neck until dead. Have you last words in your defense?

Salvador: They were bandits. They tried to kill mi abuela (my grandmother).

Judge Chavez: Yes, yes, yes - you have attempted to convince your fellow villagers of this many times. Anything ELSE to say regarding the murder of these men?

Salvador: Uh... it was fun?
"

I could go on for a while. Or I could just go reinstall the game.

i have been since the 2nd playthough when i completetly fell in love with it, i check every corner for a tape to listen about the vault hunters back story, the most memorable was when jack talks about how he spooned someones eye out and at the end he was like "anyway you are a total bitch"

Congratulations on discovering the value of stories in games, my friend. A good story can give you great joy and great sadness. The interaction can make this experience more intense.

I think the ending of the game leaves those who connect to the story and characters with a lot to think about and strong emotions, intentionally so. It is normal to feel a little down after finishing a good work, because you go back to your routine and leave the heightened emotions behind.

Remember that much like you have your personal preference in how you play, creators have their own in what type of game they make. If you play a game which is heavily story-driven and just skip a big part of the purpose of its existence, you might find very little to enjoy in it. I am not being preachy, mind you. You can enjoy your games as you like. This is just some personal advice, about how you can get the most out of the games you play when you play them for what they are. You seem to have enjoyed your story-focused playthrough.

There are a lot of games out there which you might like as stories. The Metro 2033/Last Light games, The Last of Us and from your list Dishonored and Fallout: New Vegas, if you want an FPS or at least action-including experience. Many games with great stories are outside of the AAA FPS/Action realm, but if your newfound interest in a strong narrative lasts, you will eventually get to those as well. :)

This is probably the most enjoyable story driven game I have played , perhaps this is my type of game , the first story focus game I enjoyed was uncharted, I have also just though if I want a story base experience I could just read a book or watch a movie, but Bioshock have completely changed it for me, perhaps I'll go get a 2nd hand disc for the last of us tmr. Thanks for the suggestion

I haven't played it, and it was pretty easy to catch up - during the intro they tell most of the first game's story, and the game also reflects pretty often. It's not even hard to puzzle it together :)

No, not necessary. There is also a mini-story that tells you about it at the beginning. It would be helpful no read the comic, but again not really necesary.

The only weak point The Darkness 2 have is... its really short.

Well. I'm not an expert. I just read the beginning of "The Darkness". If this is helpul to you, the main character is Jackie Estacado, who is the typical anti heroe. He is loyal, nice, respectful, brave... aaaaand violent, criminal and a gangster. His family is 'Mafia'. You discover that, inherited from his father, he will be 'The Darkness', some kind of evil stuff that he uses to make 'Mafia jobs' :P

Bioshock has always been more of a narrative FPS game with really interesting plot (nah, Huniepop and the likes have different kind of plot! Stop you pervs!), the gunplay always comes second for me at least. Have you played the DLC for in Infinite? Burial at the Sea 1 & 2 are both quite short but I liked the story part with both dlcs. Those dlcs can be quite cheap nowadays too, especially if you find the seasonpass dirt cheap :) Really looking forward for remaster, especially since existing owners of Bioshock 1 and 2 get those upgrades free! Wohoo!

+1 for the Darkness 2 too. The game can be gory and brutal but also really good characters. As mentioned before, you could like Metro game series too, and if the gunplay isn't good enough you can always go for Stalkers with some user made addons but the story isn't exactly deep in those.

Where can I find season pass dirt cheap? Never seen it more than 50% off, and even gmg's selling it for 20% off now. Thought it was because people are still interested in those dlcs, so triple pack is dirt cheap as a first dose, but if you want more you gotta pay.
