I'm actually working on a little something in RPG Maker because I seen how dangerously underpopulated the RPGMaker game market is.

Thanks for a RPG Maker! :) Wanted to try it for some time now.
As for the favourite RPG Maker engine game - To the Moon. Didn't even have to think about the question. Also SG The Game of course :)

I like their games too. I enjoyed A bird Story and Book of Legends and some more on steam.
The best game I pick up is yumenikki, a free game not on steam. It's Japanese game and I don't know it has other language though.
I can find many good free games made by that tool in Japan. They are created by amateur gaming fans and sadly won't come to steam because of the language barrier.

The amount of bump is too low! Have one on me, Adventurers ^^

Pretty sure Labyrinthine Dreams was made with RPG Maker. Great puzzle game :)

Yup, it was. There have been a couple other puzzle games to come out of RPGM too, iirc. Pretty neat.

I would say To the Moon for the feels, but I think my answer will be Always Sometimes Monsters, that was pretty cool!
Thank you for all the giveaways!

I like RPG Maker games and to point one out - The Albino Hunter.
It may not be the best one, even using default graphics, but story was something different than usual and it was pretty crazy with funny 4th wall jokes. I have to get more of them and start playing.

I feel like RPG Maker has the same problem as Unity. A great tool for those who know how to use it properly but most don't :/.

I have to agree with you, unfortunately. At least it doesn't seem like people publish their unfinished RPGM junk to greenlight like they do with Unity.

I've been a fan of RPG Maker games for a very long time. I know that it's really hard and take lots of time to make a decent game with this engine, so I always appreciate the effort of the devs. If you'd like to play more awesome RPGM games, check out rpgmaker.net, they have tons of it.

I like RPGMaker games too (the graphics and design), but one thing that keeps me from playing its games is the Turn-Based fighting style, I just don't like it.

This may be very hard to believe but I have actually NEVER played any rpg maker games or attempted to make a game out of them but I have always wanted to lol. Its just so much money T_T
EDIT: Btw guys, if I were to want to get one of the RPG Maker games, which would you recommend? I don't want the newest one if one of the older versions can do the same thing at a cheaper price. Basically I am looking for one that can do a good job at a cheap price.

3rd bump... I guess people aren't as interested in RPGMaker as I thought. :/ Thanks to all who commented though. :)
Well, there's still about a day left on the gibs, if you haven't already entered.

The best one I've played (all the way through) so far is To the Moon.
But some others that I enjoyed were Lisa (I think this one is RPGMaker???), Waste Walkers, Last Word, Agapan, Always Sometimes Monsters, and Greyfox,

Best free RM games I've played:
The Way (excellent story, great setting, memorable characters, gameplay is a bit "classical" though)
Three the Hard Way (very dated, clunky gameplay, the plot is great though)
The Frozen World (and pretty much everything by Lys86)
Yume Nikki (weird, in a good way)
Ib (great horror game with an unusual setting)
Best commercial RM games I've played:
To the Moon (probably the most well-known RM game out there, and with reason)
Last Word (innovative setting and excellent battle system)
Still have to play LISA and Always Sometimes Monsters, but I have great hopes for them.

I have a bit of a love for Lilly and Sasha right now , I won the first one and put a lot of hours into it - it may be my first 1005 game ( no achievements but what eves) . because I like it so much I am putting more time in to learning to use RPG maker.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate this neat program and all the games we've gotten out of it. Sure, there are bad ones, but some pretty amazing games made with this tool have found their way onto steam, too. I have a pretty good idea for one myself, but it's going to take some doing to even learn how to use the program, and I have some bigger things on my irl plate right now. :/ Anyway, what's the best RPGmaker game you've played?
Also, I've gone ahead and gathered up a bunch of my extra RPGmaker-related keys and set up gibs to make this a bona fide SG event. Unfortunately, all gibs are level 3 and above. However, if anyone else wants to contribute(maybe with lower level requirements), feel free! Just reply to the first comment with a link, and I'll try to add everything to this post.
