German cut version is not compatible with the international version. Just avoid German versions of any games untill Valve implements a working age verification.

The game won't stay forever in your library, i tried several "free weekend" games and all are gone from my library. Borderlands and CoD:MW3 Multiplayer for example. But i can't say for how long they will remain in your library, sorry : /
