Fairy tail is great, clannad and clannad after story will have you tearing up or crying. Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is amazing. Darker than Black is pretty good but the second season is trash. Log horizon is also good and Angel beats

I know it's not exactly like any of the things you listed, but when trying to think about something that might work (yet no one else had mentioned, and might fall slightly outside the norm), I came up with Juuousei. It's pretty short, so that might be a bonus.

If you like Elfen Lied, watch Brynhildr in the Darkness. It's by the same author, and shaping up to be pretty good.

Well, not the kind of anime I usually watch, so... If you ever want to go for some comedy, go for Azumanga Daioh or Jungle wa Itsumo Hale nochi Guu.

Watch Blue Exorcist (subbed). I just started it yesterday and it feels very vaguely similar to Soul Eater so far.

So many serious stuff... guess it's kinda awkward for me to recommend you Ranma 1/2 since it's an sometimes-action-y silly comedy but if you feel like laughing your ass off for a change, totally try it out. :D

I can recommend you Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai its good if you wanna try out a comedy anime :)

i don't watch much anime but 'the wind rises' is very good. just saw it in theaters a couple months ago.

We have similar taste. My favorites are Hellsing, Claymore, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Baccano!, Attack on Titan, FLCL, One Piece, Darker Than Black, Space Dandy, and Dragon Ball. I recommend you any of those that you haven't seen, especially Trigun and Baccano!. Those two are a must.
