Lmao, you got the 5p cards... Rolling in the money

Is it really stealing from someone that stole it in the first place?

Stealing is stealing but those that got a key didn't steal, they simply used the opportunity to get a free copy.
The list could have been a copy of a stolen copy of a leaked leak from a copy that's been stolen, nobody knows.

Possession of stolen goods is a crime in a lot of jurisdictions. Though standards differ on the minimum value of the goods and whether you had to know they were stolen or not. Practically speaking, having a single stolen Steam Key isn't going to get you prosecuted. Having several hundred probably would, though.

Alright, I take a break from pressure washing some crap outside to have lunch and find the forum has some new drama.
I don't really know the full story to this, but that doesn't matter if I just want to put an end to arguments. Cut out the drama and act like adults. If people still want to argue, ignore them. If people keep going on, then I'll just close the topic and hand out suspensions to those who don't want to listen.
I'm going to paste this on a reply to everyone I see that needs to be told this.
Keep the discussion to revoked keys.

It's not really surprising, to be honest. I'll have to keep trying to win it here (if is still a valid giveaway here, that is)!

I wasn't referencing you(since I didn't even know it's yours) nor did I know who original leaker was.
But looks like I had little mistaken and poster on steam forums was original the leaker and it's was just your link that someone else leaked.

not the bad guy
shared list of stolen keys with private group of bot farmers
If you knew the list was stolen you should have deleted it and kept it from being spread. If you didn't know, you should have shared it with everyone (or no one), rather than trying to give bots even more of an advantage over regular people that just want to play the game (if it was a legit giveaway list).
People like you that try to turn every nice opportunity into a way to profit, often at the expense of others, are disgusting.

I'm no lawyer, but admiting that you handled stolen goods like that, knowingly, is a crime, mate. In many jurisdictions, if an individual has accepted possession of goods or property and knew they were stolen, then the individual is typically charged with a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the value of the stolen goods. There is a "1-4 years in jail" sentence (or just a fine, depending of the total value) for that in my country, for example.
In the end, If all the troubles from this is just some legit keys lost, you should consider yourself lucky.
EDIT: Out of curiosity, I've decided to google the american counterpart to my country's law:
18 U.S. Code § 2315
18 U.S. Code § 2314
You appear to be safe, since I don't believe all those key were worth more than 5k. I could be wrong tho.

Miyuu you are now on my blacklist. People like you should banned everywhere !
You used stolen keys and KNOW that they are stolen. Then you share this keys with other bot users and say now you are not a bad guy and only the first that have stolen the keys is the evil one ? Good joke kid :D
You use bots (not only one !) to make faster money as normal players.
You destroy the market with your cautious.
What do you have done to fix the situation ?
You are harmed because anyone bruteforced your file names and stole "legit and unused" keys from you ? (earned with botting... -or buyed money from botting-)
Sorry that i think it hit the right one.
Thats the price for playing in the dark zone by the big guys (black hats). It gives everytime a better one and everytime a evil one too.

So, they finally found the thief? If I got it right, it was not Miyuu, since he claims that he only shared the keys. Anyone knows where all those keys came from? Last time I heard something like this a site went bankrupt. I hope no bussiness went down because of a stupid botter.

I still hate it how revokes don't affect also trading cards and everything related to them. I know it'd be super complex to implement, but basically everybody who redeemed that key already got what he wanted, only people that truly wanted to play the game got hit by this revoke. By now it simply doesn't make sense anymore, but I know they have to do it since those are stolen keys after all.
Comment has been collapsed.
Valve and the publisher are both making money from the sales of these cards so I guess it's not a complete loss for them. Plus, if anyone really wanted the game, they're likely to actually purchase it at a later time.

You have no clue how many games I played and enjoyed while absolutely not considering to buy them even at discounted price otherwise (before trying). It was an excellent way for them to gain a few more players into the franchise, even if just 1% of everybody who redeemed those keys. The remaining 99% is already gone with what they wanted anyway.

So what ? Did steffke at any point imply you're the one who stole the keys ? As far as I can tell her statement still stands entirely accurate.

I would have been happy simply editing out the link at issue, but my options with a topic are to close it or change the category, nothing more. I can not edit other users topics or posts. At that point, no keys were available anyway, so when I saw the ticket asking that link be removed to limit the issues caused to their site, I closed the topic. My involvement was nothing more, as I don't even use the site where they were apparently distributed.
And very well, since you want to continue this, I'll give you a small holiday as already mentioned. Please don't continue in this way when you return. Toxic forums benefit no one.

I heard most of the keys were duplicates anyway taken by bots.

I really liked the game (I got it in a giveaway here). I even got the sequel too. Made me kinda sad to see all those keys leaked.

It's supposed to count for 0 CV theoretically (assuming that someone is staying on top of this stuff, which is dubious in and of itself) but would still count towards # of games given away of course..... not that ratio ever really meant much despite what the ratio nazis would want others to believe. Anyway, the issue is not so much that but the principle of making giveaways for games that are illegitimate (and thus consequently revoked). Anyone with half a brain would have foreseen this coming from a mile away if they saw where the keys came from.

Accounts activated stolen Banner Saga keys got Banned - this would be a hilarious headline, though it would be too dramatic and harsh.
...dark reality, year 2020, clusters of Raspberry Pi S* each with Steam account. Hundreds of thousands of accounts. Farmers get seeds straight from game-shaped object developers for free, and buy some other from key-gen crackers sitting on quantum hardware, so other publishers including respected companies are leaning more and more towards just selling their keys for really cheap to "official farmers" straight, who are honorably registered on Steam with corresponding regalia. Cards can drop only when playing hundreds of hours and boosters drop on the same basis, so human-users don't get almost any, while Steam levels are needed to have access to discounted deals, buy new 'hangar slots for games', send messages etc. Rebellious indie devs who refused to include cards got sued by Steam, and cards forcefully added.
And oh yes, 33% of trades gets farmer, 33% publisher and 33% Steam.

I think the next logical step is trojans that install card-dropping game-like objects onto peoples computers instead of malware...

Interesting... I already had it in my library but someone told me to get a key as it would add premium DLC I didn't have already.
I didn't do it as it was strange... I suspected they were retrieved wrongly...
Just wonder if I would have done that would it have revoked both DLC and base game that I already had...
Wouldn't that have been ironic!
