If it's only on that game, and the rest scales properly....well then i'd say you're screwed, but hopefully you're not.
Good luck with that.

I played through it and it fits my screen perfectly.

What is the size of your tv? I have a 42" and it works fine.

Well poor you with a huge expensive tv. Cry me a river.
But yeah you should talk to tech support.

Doesn't ever game now a days? :'c It pisses me off that developers charge so much for games and yet they make them in a rush, not bothering to fix all the errors. If you're going to put that time and effort into something, make sure it's top notch.

Try to change resolution on the PS3 itself. "Settings" --> "Display Settings".

Well, there is a quick way to do a Video settings reset on your PS3:
1 - From a "Turned off state", press and HOLD the power button. The system will beep once (Keep holding the button), then after 3-10 seconds or so, it will beep again. Let go of the button at this point
2 - This will get the system to go through the process of detecting your visual settings again. It will scan the kind of "Device" your using (HDMI, Component etc)
3 - Confirm/deny the type if it matches.
4 - After confirming, it will auto-detect your resolution. Given that its a "Bigger Screen" I would expect a resolution of 720p-1080p,
Note: If the screen remains "Black", just wait. If it gives you a resolution you can't read, it will revert to a lower one.
5 - That should be it. If everything looks good on the launcher menu, then boot up the game and see what happens.
If anything breaks (unlikely), let us know.
This is a shot in the dark, more than likely this is still an issue with your game itself.
EDIT: Awesome. Have fun with your game! :D

Its far from crappy. It is getting outdated though, thats true.

when i say crappy i don't mean that it's outdated. i mean that is inferior to her direct competitor the xbox 360 in almost every way. in fact the only time PS3 shines is in the hands of exclusive devs. most multiplat titles don't work well. PSN store doesnt even have demos for every non-retail game. The Ui of PS3 is simply horrible and non intuitive. The controller doesnt even have triggers and has that sixaxis motions stupidity.i could go on with more failures of the sony's part but the fact is when xbox and PS3 run side by side with multiplat titles, xbox is a much more intuitive, faster and cheaper solution to the PS3.

Actually, when it comes to PS3 vs X360 games, multiplarformers look better because X360 is first choice of developers. You know how PC gamers are angry about rubbish ports? Same thing happens there - game is made for X360, and then it's ported to work on PS3. But those ports aren't that rubbish as some PC are, because before game can appear on any console dev must pay MS/Sony/Nintendo/whatever for certification, where they check if minimal standards are met.
PS3 exclusives show how rubbish work multiplatfordevs are doing.
Won't say anything about pads, there are people who hate MS pads, others hate Sony pads.

this is actually one argument against the PS3, the fact that dev prefer much more easely the 360 shows how much harder it is to code for the PS3. I still have no idea why sony made the PS3 that way. they should be very similar instead the DEVS have to dedicate a lot of time to understand the structure.
Personally i find that counter productive.
about the pads, fair enough, i'll have to respect you here, however i think the PS3 controller should have been upgraded.

Sony made it this way because:
a)they couldn't use DirectX
b)Sony way, while harder, gives much better results WHEN devs are using all PS3 resources.
Also, Sony could be stupid enough to believe same trends from earlier generation will happen, where it was 150 millions PS2 vs 24 millions of Xbox - which means everybody would make games for PS3, and maybe then some rubbish port for X360. But MS isn't stupid, they know how to sell their stuff...

I have to disagree on the UI part. Its one of the best and more intuitive UIs I ever used.

And it has something really odd that I've never seen in a video game before. Remember the first time you played, the game has you set up a few options? It has you adjust the settings so that the four corners on the screen align with the four corners of your tv. Well I enlarged the screen as much as I could, and it won't fit on my tv. In fact the game screen displays a quarter smaller than my tv's actual size. ಠ_ಠ
The game cost 60 dollars when it was first released and the company didn't even have the decency to work on the game hard enough to make sure it fits your tv? It's still a great game, but it kind of peeves me that game developers don't take the time to fix mistakes they make. I'm more so confused on why the game even makes you adjust the screen size. Any game I've ever played fits your tv automatically.
Edit: Thank you very much to ElvisPrime and Schizophriend. Crisis averted. I never even knew my PS3 could do that. Hasjhkasdf
