What is with Bethesda lately and charging more for the DLC than buying the whole thing? That seems like them saying FU to everyone that bought the shitty game at release and only need/want the DLC.
I was going to point out that the same deals are available on Humble Store which would be better for Humble Monthly subscribers that get a store discount, but Bethesda doesn't allow you to use your discount AND they don't allow a percentage to go toward charity. I was going to pick up the Dishonored bundle, but I'm not sure I want give money to Bethesda ever again.

Why not just ignore DLC alltogether? We don't need DLC. Fallout 4 has like 80 hours on its own. Is it really necessary to play even more of it? The publisher's DLC policies are always heavily criticised, yet people buy unbelievable amounts of DLC. Just because they have the feeling they don't get the "full" experience if they don't. This needs to change. 80 hours sounds like a full experience to me. If we all ignored DLC for a while, the publishers would either skip them alltogether, or at least make them cheaper or improve their quality. Most DLC is an obvious money grab. Gold and Complete Editions fall under the same category. They are often way more expensive than the base game. And for every additional bit of content that belongs to a DLC you pay a premium. You can also see it when looking at the pricing during sales. Base game is discounted by 50%, DLC and Complete Edition only by 33%. It is a money grab, and I wish people would just ignore DLC (with very few exceptions).
Fallout 4 is a good example (currently on sale). The base game gives you like 80 hours on average. The Far Harbor DLC gives you only around 15 more hours, yet it costs more (!) than the base game. The GOTY edition, which gives you some decent DLC, but also a lot of shitty ones with mostly negative reviews - well, it costs double the base game price. In what world is that a good deal?
People always want the "complete game". I say the complete game is an illusion. You pay double the price for not that much more value. Why not stick to the base game and buy a whole other game for the price difference? To stay at the Fallout 4 example: you could buy Doom or Prey for the difference and even have some change left. A full additional game instead of DLC with very mixed reviews.
Just my 2 cents...

Well most of the time i buy goty editions because i have nearly only games i play sp.
TW 3 kingdoms i bought at launch and i happily won the blood pack dlc (would have bought it anyway) Because for me thats part of the experiance. However with the 8 princes dlc, it seems mighty fine content and price wise $8 or so lower if you know where to look on legal sites. But that period is saying nothing to me. So 90% sure i wont be buying it.
But maybe i am one of the few.
But like said in the beginning if i have the choice between base game and goty I nearly always go with the goty but thats you get lots more for a few bucks more at that moment sometimes the goty is even lower than the base somehow ^^

Lately with my growing backlog, I don't replay as many games, so I just wait for a game and all of its DLC to come out, and a decent sale before buying it.
Not all DLC is a scam though, and it's nothing new either. Before digital distribution of games, we used to call them expansion packs and had to go to a store and buy them. Depending on the developer and publisher, good DLC provides more than enough content to the game to make it worth the price, and it was always a nice reason to replay a game.
This price policy is a fairly recent change for Bethesda. If you had the base game, you used to be able to upgrade to the GOTY/Complete/UberMegaUltimateEdition or at least pick up the DLC cheaper than buying the GOTY/Complete/UberMegaUltimateEdition, but they've stopped doing that. After the release of Fallout 4, they even stopped discounting Fallout 3 and New Vegas for a while.

There are much historical lows with that, Dishonored games with neat discounts most lowest.

This is the only one I can recall:

Basically The Elder Scrolls Online, which is not really what I would consider among their mainstream stuff.

Last I checked none of Bethesda's products where complete th set bundles.

I'm not sure how you calculated, but wasn't the Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider Deluxe Bundle (+plus an extra Dishonored 1 bundle if you still needed the DLC) cheaper? Especially if you buy from Humble and have an active sub.
Anyway, I also spent too much money once again, buying Bethesda titles from three different stores which I won't play anytime soon. And Galaxy 2.0 reminds me all the time that I fail to stop my library from growing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The bundle is Must Purchase Together type.
So, yeah, it's a middle finger to those who already bought either of the games

Awww, haven't even played Kingdom Come Deliverance that i bought during Summer Sale yet :(

Also it seems that Prey 's deal as been extended with the Quakecon sale.
Comment has been collapsed.
well, bought during summer sale for a doubled price than this, I thought it was about time and Bethesda did not really do more than 50% for it and the game was hell old already but well, not really wasted money, that game worth that price. But Evil within again only -75%, looks tempting, it was in the only single HB monthly I not bought so far.

That's not just a random game, there are two versions of the first game available both with there own community/dlc/achievements. If you want to be picky 2 has DLC as well.

As I own and have played it I'm well aware of what it is, I was just pointing out that you don't actually have all the games even if you do have technically have access to all the content. Same applies to the pre-order DLC for Dishonored 2, it doesn't stop being DLC just because you don't consider it as such.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ok ... I only meant as all the content ...
But nice information btw!

I think I am also finally getting that Rage 1 dlc, The Scorchers. I am also considering the Dishonored Death of the Outsiders Deluxe Bundle(that includes Dishonored 2), The Evil Within Bundle, Doom and the Prey Deluxe bundle.

How is Fallout 4? I've never played any, but I have enjoyed playing Skyrim (no DLC), so if it's good, I might consider getting the bundle Fo4 + Skyrim SE. Or maybe FoNV is better? I'm looking for immersion gameplay wise. Something that I can explore like in Skyrim, with character building etc
Comment has been collapsed.
I never got that into Skyrim and have only played a bit of Fallout 3 but boy when I got Fallout 4 on my xbox one I really really enjoyed the days spent on that game. I fell in love with the basebuilding. Gunplay is great en I was thoroughly immersed. I'm very tempted to get the GOTY edition + Skyrim on pc.

I believe it was a general consensus that New Vegas is better, story-wise, more interesting character building and immersion, FO4 wasn't too bad to me, but it definitely feels more built like a shooter than the more rpg feel of New Vegas. I also do believe it's the lowest for New Vegas Ultimate maybe, haven't seen it that cheap. Ofc, you have the base building in FO4 as well which was fun to play with for a while.

i liked f4, its not a rpg though. but i like world, exploration, guns?

It wasn't for me, found all the quest too boring and quite the same (if you're going for 100% and do all the side-quests) that's why I dropped it (spent around 20 hours in this game)
On the other hand my friend still loved it, and spent a whole week without seeing the light :D
Comment has been collapsed.
You are going to probably get very different answers to that - either RPG lovers who love first fallout games and hate this one, and then those who prefer the more simpler 1st person shooter style of it who love it.
Personally I enjoyed it thoroughly. Story was interesting enough, lore is awesome, visually the game is great (for me visuals give a lot to game - I love New vegas and fallout 3 but they just dont hold the same value to me as fallout 4 just because of visuals). Im hoping to get it on steam as well but that will have to wait probably due to reasons. Havent played it for a long time. Out of my friends who played it all enjoyed it as well.
I dont think you can go wrong with it

Complete Edtition: 23.99
"Dishonored - Definitive Edition" and "Dishonored: Death of the Outsider - Deluxe Bundle": 15.98
Holy crap that's a difference. Thanks for pointing that out!

i am broke AF so gonna have to pass on all these deals, but hey! if they put it down this far now they'll discount it this much again. it just might take a few years! :D :D :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Btw for those that will try like me the 20%+ discount for the monthly does not work anymore ... I was not fast enough!
Comment has been collapsed.
The base game needs to cost $30 and the discount needs to be 80% since it's a Bethesda game(full of bugs, takes a week at least to mod it, graphics are 15 years behind current gen etc.)

8 eur for dishonored 2 is a good price
but i don't have the specs nor the time to play this on max settings

i think i'm gonna buy DOOM (2016)
it wasn't on sale during summer sale now it's the best price i can ever find

The funny thing is... Once upon a time, I wasn't sure about Mad Max. Because sci-fi/post-apocalyptic/guns. I'm more of a fantasy/Skyrim/sword&shield type of person. I got told that, hey, it's kinda like Rage. Which I haven't played, duh. I finally gave Mad Max a shot and loooooved it. I especially liked the driving parts.
I can handle weak, paper-thin plot. I mean, my favorite Rambo movies are the second and third ones. So yeah, I'm usually easily entertained.
What concerns me the most is... if my Xbox controller would work flawlessly. I know. FPS with a controller. Heresy. But I tend to game with a controller nowadays because using K+M often gives me wrist pain. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
