I used to very much be in the "always say thanks" faction, but with the message notification system, I'm aware that some people who used to complain about thanks-spam now have a legitimate gripe, so I definitely say thanks less often than I used to.

Note the poll is focused on saying thanks upon entry. This has nothing to do with thanks upon winning ... honestly, if you do not say thanks upon winning, you're a douche. No offense but this isn't even debatable, so it is not covered in this poll.

Has your THANK YOU entry behavior changed with the message notification system?

No, I still say THANKS with pretty much every entry.
No, I still almost never post THANKS.
Yes, I now post a THANKS more often because I know the creator will see it.
Yes, I no longer post THANKS with frequency because it causes notification clutter.

Every now and then.

Based on the poll it seems that the silent block has increased. On personal experience, there seems to be fewer comments on public giveaways than there used to be.

I never commented much on public anyways cause I felt they got so much clutter (which they don't anymore...) but my behaviour with group GAs definitely changed. When one person posted a bunch of GAs in a row I used to say thanks in every single one but now I'll just post in one and mention that I'm thanking for all their current GAs.

I still say thanks for every Whitelist and almost every Private GAs though (unless they're trains in which I'll only say it at the end).

Not in the smallest extent.
What is really sad, number of users that only push 'enter' and 'received' buttons is growing :( I guess it has something to do with scaremongering threads about blacklisting for saying thanks.

I try to get groovy with the creator of the giveaway with mild success. SOMETIMES i get an answer, SOMETIMES I go unnoticed :(

I still say something the vast majority of the time. Exemptions are for trains/multiple giveaways by the same person and when the giver states that thank yous are either unecessary or unwelcome.

Or "No thanks, but thanks!"

None of the 3 options. I post thanks when I feel like it, while thinking about the notification thing 0% of the time.

I always say thank you and they are never generic replies. This applies to every type of give away

If they specifically ask not to, or there is no description at all, I do not leave a thank-you.

+1

and this:
"Exemptions are for trains/multiple giveaways by the same person and when the giver states that thank yous are either unecessary or unwelcome."

I'm still commenting at most of entries, usually some generic "thanks" form (but always handcrafted), sometimes I post some jpg/gif or say something else. I always answer the questions etc. I just try not to miss anything, generaly "I care" about that things.
Also I check the creator profile and if he seems to be person which don't talk much I may stay silent for him as well. It's not easy to be polite here, from the time when so many people feel offended by strangers comments. I do not criticize that but still, it's not comfortable to me when I must choose/check/think about whether to thank or not ;)

I always comment. No exception, unless directly requested by the giveaway creator.

However, I only enter private, small group, or whitelist giveaways. And I'm talking 100 entries or less, here (kinda depends, though). I never enter public giveaways. Also, I very rarely reply something generic. I always try to say something about the game, the giveaway, post a gif or image, whatever. If not, I try to at least have an original or creative way of saying thanks.

I stopped saying thanks after someone complained a lot at me for "thanking" people :/

I don't anymore because I hate getting notification spam on my own giveaways. I ALWAYS say thanks though if I win a game, fucking hate all the pricks who are too lazy to do that...which would be 80% of my winners in the past year >.<

If people ask for a joke, or cute picture, etc. in the description... I usually do that. Otherwise I don't say anything. ( unless I win)

If someone is doing a lot of simultaneous giveaways and you are entering a bunch of them, I think you shouldn't spam them with 420 thanks messages on every single one, but I dont have a problem with seeing thanks from a bunch of different people.

Normally, when it's a public giveaway, I won't comment just for entering, unless the creator states that it's wanted. I, however, always leave a comment when it's a whitelist giveaway, unless it's not wanted by the creator, or if there are multiple giveaways from the same person.

I always thank the giveaway creator when I win, no matter the type of giveaway. I used to always comment upon entering, but now I just see commenting on public giveaways as repetitive and spammy, and there are also people that threaten to blacklist you if you say "thank you" or don't comment in such a way that satisfies them.
