Dota 2 or LoL

Played both, found League more enjoyable overall.

Both are rage inducing at times, but League just grows on you, while I never felt the call of DotA much. It just didn't feel that good.
I guess it's kinda pretty, but League has more style.

LoL for casual noob kids, Dota for real gamers and russian flamer kids.

I believe i can add something to the conversation as a player who played dota all stars for 6 years, LoL for 2 years and been playing Dota 2 for 1.5 years.
LoL is a fun easy game if you don't mind losing because of teammates and be willing to follow some "meta" even in low level games. Everyone flames you for not picking one if there is no jungler in your team. Everyone flames you for picking a second carry. Everyone flames you if you even think of not following the metagame.
But in dota, everything works in pub games. You can pick 5 carries and still win. Most heroes don't have hard boundaries on which role they fill. For example pick Lion, bam you can play as support or burst mage or something in between. Pick Skeleton King, bam you can be tank, dps or even side disabler. Dota has much more possibilities and viable tactics than LoL. But it is harder, needs much more time to learn, adjust and finally enjoy. Jungling is not mandatory and only a handful of heroes are viable junglers.
All in all, if you want fast fun time, go with LoL. If you want deeper and intelligent play, go with Dota 2. I ended up on Dota 2 because playing LoL feels like stabbing each other 100 times with toothpicks untill someone falls.

Edit: Items in Dota 2 is much more varied and impacts the game 10 times more with their active abilities too whereas items in LoL are just stat buffs in most cases.
