Tower of london, british museum, national gallery are great. I wouldn't recommed london eye, I find its 30 mins ride very boring.
If you into live performance/theaters, you'll find many plays & musicals are definitely worth going.

Two things:
1 Camden Lock Market
2 The Clink (+ other museums as others have already suggested)
3 Fish and Chips
4 I can't count

I've only been to Manchester for a stag weekend - but the bits I remember were good...

Oh, and if you are into theatres, No Man's Land with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen runs until December 17!

V & A is fab, especially the café room. Then Nat Hist Museum & Science are just over the road. Sometimes there's a butterfly exhibit outside too, which is good.
More centrally, Trafalgar Square & the two galleries. Walk from there to, well, lots of touristy places.
Tower of London is okay, but not my idea of a proper castle (like Dover).
Have fun! :)

I went to London this year.
I bought tickets for Madame Tussauds and London Eye. Totally worth it for me. At the time it Madame Tussauds had star wars. (february)
Also made a booking to visit the Sky Guarden. (It was free).
I ate pancakes on pancake day. Visited museums. cookies from tesco.
I miss London. Have a nice trip!

Only been to London once, years ago, I live outside England and if I was to take another visits to London HMS Belfast and Imperial War Museum would be 2 of the things I would see, but again it depends on what you're into and what interrests you.

If you choose HMS Belfast, I would say that a small interest in history and military stuff is needed or it could be a wtf am I doing here experience. Imperial war museum is a bit about the same but also with special exchibitons about special events and/or periodes.

The shop itself is an experience as well. It's all quitte dark lighted with UV lights. You can easily look it up on google to have an impression.
Also, had no-one mentioned Harrods yet? It's the most exclusive warehouse I guess. All build in Egyptian style, foodcourt where you eat with golden fork and knifes. I suggest holding your breath as I've seen a vase for 10.000 pounds and stuff even more expensive.

Go to an Arsenal game :D But I read the comments and the Doctor Who shop sounds awesome! :D

Well, I'm not sure what your tastes are, but as an anime fan, I myself would probably consider visiting the locations featured in the K-ON! movie. A quick Google search gave me this and this, among others.

I love London. Here are my suggestions.
For the record, the pretty one is the Tower Bridge, not to be mistaken with the London bridge (full of history but not pretty at all)
DO's
Regent's Park (free)
Museum: British Museum (free)
Candem
Picadilly Circus
Drink a Guinness
Kensington Gardens
St. Paul's Cathedral from Millenium Bridge (view)
Tower Bridge experience (worth it)
Borough Market (awesome)
Big Ben and Westminster abbey (get there by tube and get off on Westminster station, totally worth experience)
Trafalgar square
DONT's
Madame Tussauds
London Eye
Eat fish & chips
Windsor Castle
Shakespeare's globe
St. Paul's Cathedral (way too expensive)
Natural History museum

My pleasure mate, always glad to help
I believe no such thing brings more joy than travelling (not even a library with 8000 games xD)
Well, you know it's all about what you like or not. I grew up learning English as a foreign language and every textbook made reference to fish and chips. So first time I went to London I said I must have some.
It was a huge disappointment, I think I set my standards too high though. But no matter what I say, if you are set to try it, then go ahead :)
I would try a full English breakfast without hesitation, those were wonderful and gave you plenty of energy for the day.
If you love food, I encourage you to go to the Borough market (pay attention as it doesn't open every day I think)
If you get to Westminster station, look for the exit that says westminster abbey or something like that (can't recall exactly), it's a nice experience.
Have a wonderful time there, it's one of my favorite cities in the world

Camden, definitely. I lived there for a few years. Lovely place. I recommend Camden Coffee House on Camden Road for a fantastic vanilla latte and a nice spot to relax in the back garden. The markets are, of course, essential though you can get a bit lost if you've not been before. They're great for clothes, food and jewellery. Also on Saturday try the markets on and around Brick Lane in East London and the book market under Waterloo Bridge next to the National Theatre.

Heya Codeboo:)
I'm sure you'll enjoy London <3
If you're a Harry Potter fan with money, the Studios are amazing, and you can spend the whole day there, there's so much to see. It's a little costly and far away though.
If you're a Harry Potter fan with no money, there's always King Cross Station that's pretty cool to see, take photos, etc. There are loads of people though.
If you're a Music fan, well, there's the Abbey Road (The Beatles) that's pretty cool... and I think it was right next to it (?) the Abbey Road Studios that's pretty cool to check out.
Another really cool place is Harrods. It's... sort of a shopping mall, but that doesn't do it justice. It's like.... super amazing cool with loads of awesome food places and also teas and chocolates and sweeeeeeets everywhere, bakery, oooohhh!! Then a lot of the other stuff there is awesome to check out, but not really for real shopping, cause it's super duper expensive.
Other than that there are some normal tourist spots that are cool... London Eye is beautiful.
And Buckinham palace is pretty cool but I think a bit further away? :)

The first post mentioned about it, and it looks like I'm likely to go there. So looking forward to it =]
Abbey Road looks close to Regent's Park, so I can visit the studio when I go to the park
When to Harrod's site and man those prices $$, but looks like a good place to pass by and eat
Thank you for your suggestions! Will make this trip a memorable one

So I'm going to London for the first time, and I'm wondering if anyone here at SG has any recommendations on what to do there. I searched some places at Google and TripAdvisor that interest me like Hyde Park and the London Eye. But maybe there are places that I might overlook.
Small
Edit: Thank you for the help guys!
