I used to play Dota 2, but I lost a lot and I literally hated losing, I raged like hell on people sucking, because I didn't want to lose, I was such a elitist, I didn't care about having fun, it was all about winning.

TF2 came into the same way, fun at first now, but the more I play the more I want to win, and the more I get seriously pissed when I get dominated all the time. I'm quitting TF2 now to get rid of this bullshit, I'll stick to single player games and co-op and whatevah.

Anyone like me? Not like me?

Just talk on something, I dunno.

I was always told by a british guy (at that time friend) that I was a elitist, but whatever. I always picked on him and raged out when he was playing badly.

Multiplayer games are only fun if you're 1) winning 2) playing with friends, with having fun with friends being the more important factor or 3) loosing, but still had a very good and intense fight. It's only elitist when 1) is the only way to make you enjoy your match, which happens to me sometimes, sadly :/. Depends on the game, i guess

Certain games more than others, mainly League of Legends, but it's not so much only being fixated on winning as much as it is having low tolerance for people being bad or stupid. I never say anything to the people in question (because I don't like being rude and for all I know they're new to the game and still learning or young or whatever) but I tend to sit here complaining about it constantly to my boyfriend until he finally tells me to just shut up.

I've encountered a lot of people like that in TF2 though. Last time I played (a couple days ago) I was on a practically empty payload server with just my boyfriend, a good friend of ours, and some other guy. It was the other guy and me against my friend and boyfriend and we weren't really trying that hard, mostly just screwing around. Halfway through the second round we were there for the random stranger on my team goes on spectator and my boyfriend, being silly, asks why he did that. He replies "So I can watch my shitty teammate. This is good entertainment." My friend says "We're all friends, we're not even trying, and she got a ton more points than you last round." The guy just goes on and on and on about how we're all so awful (constantly ignoring us telling him we're not even trying), how I'm apparently a stupid and pathetic and a failure, so I just stood off to the side and watched my boyfriend and friend make it their sole mission to hunt the asshole down and repeatedly kill him while mocking him and throwing all his stupid insults back at him.

I mean I didn't know my life's worth came from my ability to play a video game. Who knew.

I really am one of those "well it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's just a game, it's supposed to be fun..." people but they can still be frustrating and I do get irritated sometimes. I agree that multiplayer games are a lot more fun with friends and that generally makes me less prone to getting irritated because the friends I play with are often in the same room with me so I'll be talking to them and laughing about the stupid crap we're doing.

Some people do take these things waaaaaay too seriously though.

Thanks for the giveaways BTW, although I have both of those already.

People, or I should rather say, russians. In dota 2, use/used to be very offensive. To the point where they would yell at you every time you died, I got irritated myself when I was doing really good. I remember one game, I was completely snowballing the entire game, we had it won (dota 2), I was also playing with my brother. But, my brother and the rest of the team decided to do a 4v5 teamfight, without me (the fed carry). They all died, and didn't have buyback. We lost in a matter of minutes. I think I haven't yelled like that ever since, I was so mad I could throw a chair into the computer screen.

Russians yell "Cyka blet, idi nahui" or however you spell it. I could personally not stand hearing shit like that all the time, aswell as having problems with losing, and obviously the communication problems between russians and english people, no communication in a team game = lose = more mad = lose more = even more mad.

I do feel you, that this happens a lot in TF2 too. I played on some random KOTH valve servers today/yesterday, and I encountered a lot of people votekicking people, and writing in chat how bad they are, bla bla bla.

I do not have any big time friends to be honest, I do have internet-friends which I talk to a lot, mostly from my giveaway group which is not much about giveaways in my opinion, even if I'm the creator and everything I value the chat 10000x more then the giveaways, I barely enter them myself. I used to have a lot of contacts in Dota 2, but I lost all of them since I stopped playing, and some moved to other countries and lost connection because of timezones, and bla bla. You seem like a interesting person, and if you've read this far... Just add me on steam if you want to talk more about anything, I like talking.

No, I don't. I rage a bit if I make a fuck up that causes me to loose or if there is someone who is clearly cheating on the opponents team.

Thanks for the giveaways :P.

I don't play much multiplayer, so this isn't usually the case for me. I don't even mind losing, so long as I'm not on a side that's constantly losing. When that's the case, you're better off changing servers, in search of a more balanced team.

The easiest way to suck the fun out of multiplayer is to have someone railing against their own team.

Yeah well, the most annoying this is that there's always 1 or more guy that just rapes my ass, I can't do shit against that guy/girl. I get so owned by that person, and I starts to get so mad for being dominated so much. If I get owned by everyone, even worse! I'll quit TF2 from now, it's not worth it.

My biggest issue was always the snipers. Some of them make the most ridiculous headshots, to the point of being questionably possible. Part of it was just lag on their end, so by the time the game registered that they shot me, I was five feet behind a wall. But I hate people playing snipers in every game. Its such a cheesedick way to play a multiplayer game.

Hah, I so agree. I did actually at one game encounter a person which literally used some hack, and spammed in the chat "BLA BLA BLA BEST HACK ONLINE DOWNLOAD NOW!". He instaheadshotted me as soon as I was visible, probably used some kind of aim-bot... I do get "WTF" when snipers headshot me randomly, but yeah it's lag. Lag lag lag. Damn lag. I hate demomen, the stickies. I also hate pyros, and them reflecting everything, and I also ahte scouts jumping around everywhere, I hate all classes!

I don't consider myself a "pro" in any game, and i'm not really into PVP (except planetside 2, but with all the people involved in a battle, it's hard to blame someone for something).

I'm more into coop, our kind is more "patient" towards newer/inexperienced players :P

Depends on how you consider fun.Fun is not about winning or loosing,i mean,i have met some great people on Dota 2 that i still play with them even tough we lose from time to time.Nobody is perfect, and in Dota 2 you only need a couple of mistakes for a game to be over and dominated. But fun is actualy made by the people that you are playing with. And not only in Dota.

You should consider looking up the definition of elitist first.

I don't hate losing unless it's about 5 games on the run, I can even deal with most trash talking.
Most annoying thing for me is players telling me what I should do in a game. I block them in games that allow it and just carry on.

L4D2 was a baptism of fire in multiplayer gaming for me. Most other communities seems a lot more friendly after that.
