steam deck has once of the biggest lag times in taking screen shots of anything i know. when you take a screen shot it stays in the bottom corner of the screen for 4 5 seconds, it will now be included in the next screen shot you take.
had tons of failed screen shots and wanted to mass delete them.
apparently if you select all and delete all screen shots on steam deck if fucking nukes ALL your last X amount of uploaded screen shots as well, im my case the last 350. mostly screen shots i took on my pc. cant reupload most of the screen shots on pc cause it thinks they are already uploaded. when i try to veiw them i get a black screen
some way to save them???
also wont let me reupload most of them
fucking hate new steam.......with a passion

just want to say it again... i fucking hate my steam deck..... the amount of time i spend just trying to get the most basic steam shit to work.... should have just purchased a laptop.
we just wanted to be able to delete mutileple screen shots from our steam deck at once.
and be able to see screen shots we take well offline.
no fuck you!!!! now you get to see every screen shot you have uploaded to steam since the beginning of time and the ones on deck so trying to delete one at a time them is a nightmare. we did add a filter setting now. you can filter all media clips screenshots and background recording.....fucking worthless

I asked about this too because I did something similar by mistake but they said they couldn't fix it. Before deleting didn't mess with the files uploaded to cloud but now deleting deletes both on cloud and local (after the steam recording update with the new screenshots UI)

I was lucky because I just switched computers recently so I was able to reupload some of the missing screenshots as they were local on my other computer, but still lost some.

If you have direct links to screenshots they might still work and you can try saving them and then reuploading them later.

I hope somehow they can resolve it for you though.

I guess you are 100% positive that your uploaded screenshots are gone as well, right? I mean, usually when you delete a screenshot through Steam you only delete the local copy... so your uploaded copies are gone as well?

In your profile, I see as your newest screenshots about a dozen from today: Psychonauts 2, Alice, Wallace and Grommit, Planet of Lana... all from Dec. 9th, was that after the snafu? Then it suddenly goes back to July 29th, so I am guessing these few months are the ones that Steam deleted... :(

Crossing my fingers that you can recover most of it (or at least re-upload the ones you have).

The crazy thing for me is I'm looking for a way to mass delete screenshots on my desktop rather than 50/page.

But that does suck when the system works against you.

About mass deleting screenshots, I think there are two ways that let you select more than 50 screenshots. In both, you could filter per game or all games.

One is to visit https://steamcommunity.com/my/screenshots/. Select the view mode Image Wall (not Grid). Click Manage Screenshots. Use the End key to scroll to the bottom of the page until all images are loaded. Enter the code below in the browser console (shortcut F12) to select all images, then click Delete at the top.
document.querySelectorAll('.screenshot_checkbox').forEach(checkbox => {checkbox.checked = true;})

The other is using the Steam client. Select from the menu bar View -> Screenshots. The Screenshots window will open. Use the End key to scroll to the bottom of the window until all images are loaded. In the top right corner, there is a Select... button that will let you select all. Click the Delete button.

First time I come across the browser console, looks very helpful. Is that specific to certain browsers?

All browsers have that. You need to be very careful when using it, though.

I used the Freeze button on my Action Replay Mk VI and sifted through 64 kb or RAM in the disassembler when you kids were even too young to watch The Care Bears.

Mmmm. As a person that gets industry-like screenshots continuously on my steamdeck, I think there is a problem on your end. Mine are almost automatic. . I have the old version

What I do is to get all the screenshots on the steamdeck, and then copy them to my PC with a card
