Am I creepy or kind?
I for one do respond to random invites, but then ask what is this about after. Got few friends like that, you never know.

I did something similar like 3-4 years ago, saw people with not much games in forum, added them to give them games for holidays... 90% didn't accept my invitation at all, and more than 50% of those who did said "give it to someone who needs it more" so I gave up and started making regular giveaways and let the rng gods decide who walks away with games...

At least it sounds like they weren't leechers. :)

I wouldn't find it creepy. At another time of year, maybe (personally but I've had issue with a stalker IRL so..), but around the holidays it would be welcome/I'd hope it's nothing weird.

nah, as long as the intentions are good people will be pleasantly surprised. To avoid looking creepy maybe not target only profiles with beautiful girls as avatars and maybe not ask for phone numbers or dates right after giving away the key :D

So ugly girl avatars are fair game? Sweet.
To OP: Kind. The thought behind it is selfless, so no, not creepy IMO. There will always be different perspectives for sure no matter what though.
As long as the intro message is not akin to "It's the holiday season, I'm playing Santa, I got something in my sack I want to give you" or something (although I will likely LOL at that but do understand that others may see it differently)...

Yeah, way creepy. especially when u add that person at night before they sleep, then say, ''i see you :D''

I don't get why people are afraid of random invites. Most of the people for example have public profiles in which they write to leave a comment on their profile before sending out a friend request. So even if you accept someone random they can't do the slightest shit more than someone who is not friends with you AS LONG AS you don't click any links they send you.
Now people will say "I don't want random people to get their hands on my personal information". Well, it's simple really: Don't share personal information if you don't want people to know! Even a private profile won't prevent random people from reading it (if they really want to).
TL;DR don't be afraid of random invites, never click links you are not 100% sure are safe and if the random user is not answering or you're getting bad vibes of him/her just delete them from your friendlist again!

His question was about whether or not it was creepy to check profiles and send friend invites... I don't think he was asking who here wanted to have some free stuff. But hey, if the guy sends you an invite, good for you. Mission accomplished. :)

And I honestly can't tell either. ;) Look, you might not have been reeeaally begging but telling someone you wouldn't mind getting something from your wishlist for free, sure looks a wee bit like it, in my eyes. And in this case. Sorry? That was my bitchy side... fueled by booze. ;)

If someone try to add me i always refuse since i don't accept random request xD

Imo we're living in a way too hostile world to view various acts of kindness as something creepy.
I also don't view browsing publicly available data such as a wishlist of someone with a public profile as "stalker behaviour".
I don't really have the financial capabilities to do such things, but I just wanted to thank you for sharing some generosity and wish you happy holidays! I^v^I

I imagine that most people will appreciate free keys once you offer them. It's just the matter of getting them to listen openly.
As a few people have pointed out, some people are reluctant to accept random friend requests, so it might be best to leave a comment on their profile (if its public) before you contact them. I don't think you'd be able to access their wishlist if their profile wasn't public, but that's something to note.
If you're open about your intentions early, I imagine most people will be more receptive, considering what you're offering.

A bit, but then I don't get to creep around in peoples' prof...whoops...I mean...it feels less personal.
Have something from your list if you're online still :-)

The holidays bring out the best in people!
I don't think it's creepy, but I do know people who would be skeeved by a random friend request

Got something from your list :-) just sent a request

I would love it if someone did that to me. As long as your profile isn't blocked I would accept.

I don't see why it would be creepy honestly. If people didn't want other people seeing their profile, they shouldn't have a public profile (or be on any forum with that profile).
I generally accept all invites. Only ones that are very low level or with profiles I don't trust or like get rejected.

I've got quite a few keys for games I already own or aren't interested in lying around and thought it would be nice to give them to people who have the games wish listed rather than just drop them. Easier said than done though.
I've been looking at profiles of people who posted recently or looking at profiles of those in the chat, then randomly sending a friend request. It's a bit like cold calling though. I doubt I'd respond to a random person trying to add me either actually. Also a bit time consuming.
In my eyes, I'm a Santa-like figure. Checking lists then trying to sneak into houses to leave presents. Not a creepy stalker, looking through your things and sending messages about how I've been watching you!
What do you think?
Edit:
Getting late, so Santa will continue tomorrow. Managed to catch quite a few people, I guess ̶H̶e̶r̶k̶o̶3̶̶ a̶n̶d̶ Riedy is offline though. I haven't given your wishlist gifts to other people though, add me tomorrow if you're interested.
Will try and catch a few more people tomorrow, still got a few more keys to gift!
