This. If you have ever shot a gun you know its totally not practical. If you are using guns or dual guns, you want freedom of movement.
And there is no way can use 2 rifles in the same time, at least if you want your bullets to hit, so what's the point of having 2 rifles ? Not to speak about the rifles lenght and the recoil massaging.
1 rifle, 2 different guns, anything more is unrealistic. And instead of all the space and weight you use for weapons have ammo and perhaps a grenade or two and add upgrades to your weapons.

But holding guns is all about how cool you look, dual wielding makes it better http://prntscr.com/2hqtei

You can carry a lot more than your max normally would allow, you've just gotta work around it. If you complete a quest that rewards you with an item, it'll still give it to you if your inventory is full.
You can also sell stuff to a vending machine, pick up a few more things, and buy them all back. It'll put you well over the cap if you're patient enough.
Though that's too much of a pain in the ass for me, so I hardly ever do it.

It depends on the sidearms.I'd not believe anyone could carry 2x Pfeifer Zeliska 28mm Revolver -_-

Just make sure you wear appropriate clothing and carry all you want!
(p.s. I assume violence is NSFW in most places, so be warned with the link)

Or unless you live in Egipt, Somalia or any other 3rd World Country

i'd rather have my char stick guns up its arse making the game unrealistic that deal with a 2 weapon limit in a lot of games that have that limit
for example im playing bioshock infinite atm and the limit is a pain in the arse that feels out of place

Spec Ops The Line has a system like that too. I like it because if forces you to choose which weapons you find the most appropriate and sometimes also forces you to use weapons you otherwise wouldn't. Also: It makes weapon selecting more simple :D

"I'm thinking that maybe one should be able to carry 2 sidearms on belt holsters + 2 sidearms on torso holsters + 2 sidearms on boot holsters + 1 sidearm tucked into the pants + 2 rifles slung on the back. What do you think?"
Nope, the person wouldn't be able to move. That's too heavy. Maybe the sidearms themselves are bearable, but the cargo gear, plus the ammo you would need would be too much. Plus, why would you need such an amount of guns? aren't one sidearm plus one or two long weapons enough?

With no ammo and everything in a big carry bag...maybe.
Also the guy is naked.

1st point. you can only use one at time. you can use two small guns in each hand, but it's inaccurate and no tactical, in other words, a waste of ammo
2nd point. Ammo and armor are heavy too. If you carry many guns you become an easy target.
3rd point. Most recon forces carries a sniper rifle and an assault rifle and they totally hate this. If they, the best guys, hate this, why anyone else not?
EDIT: Some e.g. of guns and Glock
With all this(and what I forgot) 2 rifles and a pistol is more than enough.

It may not be realistic but i loved how Goldeneye (the real one, AKA the only one that mattered) would let you pick up everything and then switch between a few dozen weapons you were carrying.
Realistically a large character can theoretically walk around with a rifle, a shotgun, several different handguns, and perhaps 2 disposable launchers or one reloadable with 2 or 3 extra shots for it. That is assuming you are using modern weapons with polymer frames skeletonized as much as possible. That is also assuming compact weapons vs some of the larger ones. It makes a world of difference if the rifles you are talking about are bullpup designs vs giant beasts designed for long range sniping or anti material rifles.
I would love to see a game that would let you absolutely load a character down with gear but suffer an increasing movement penalty as the weight increased. Sadly that seems to only ever be done in RPGs. Shooters just set hard limits on equipment slots and what types of gear can go in them.
Also, when it comes to handguns there aren't a lot of good reasons to carry more than one of the same caliber. 2 or 3 for different purposes can sometimes make sense depending on the situation. Trying to be stealthy? You want a small caliber that can be muffled more effectively by a suppressor. Dealing with snakes that are hard to hit with normal rounds? a .454 loaded with shot should do the job very effectively.
But like others said, the more weapons you have on you the more different types of ammo/loaders/magazines you are going to have to keep straight and carry the weight of.
It also makes a HUGE difference if you are talking about a realistic soldier that has to carry all kinds of gear on the assumption that he may have to survive days on his own vs somebody going in on a specific short term mission. You can carry a lot more weapons and ammo if you don't have to carry a radio, bed roll, MREs, shovel, etc... It doesn't mean you would want to, but you could.
One final note. In addition to slowing you down from the weight and restricting your movement of having it all strapped/slung on your body there is the sound. It is going to be really hard to move even the least bit stealthily with that much stuff on you to bump into stuff with, clinking around, etc...

Yes! I love doing things like that in Dark Souls. Usually pull a maxed Lightning Avelyn when they least suspect it and pump a trio of bolts through their chest.

Guns aren't actually that heavy, and more often than not, the amount of ammo a character is carrying with them in games (and has it all at ready access to reload instantly) is more unrealistic. (A problem the movie avoided.)
Even in 2-weapon games, think about how long it takes to switch from one weapon to the other... not very long right? Where exactly were they holding that weapon that they can swap instantly? Are they holding one gun in each hand, and simply choosing to only shoot with one at a time?
With a reasonable-sized backpack, you could carry as many guns as you want and quite a supply of ammo as well, though swapping and reloading would require considerably more time than it does in most games.
If you ask me, more games should be like Receiver in terms of modeling the actual 'use' of a weapon rather than trivializing it.
If you want to carry all the weapons, go ahead, but it'll slow you down and take longer to swap as you dig through your backpack. Or you can hold a gun in each hand and hotswap. Then everyone could make trade-offs to play how they want.
