Freaky

Would you guys go for it if it became a real thing? For me the health risks must be so high...And I'll stick to the Deus Ex video games tbh!

EDIT: So apparently some ppl think I'm asking you too judge this woman. I am not. As said above, i'm just asking would you guys be interested in doing this to yourself? If so what would you make it do?

I would like Adam Jensen's arm, but if i am only limited to a chip, i would like a chip with which i can control my emotions or completely turn my emotions off. Oh and it should also improve my ability to learn

The extremes that people go to in order to draw attention to themselves are mind boggling.

Damn, you made me click on a shitaku link.

Other than that... It's an interesting idea but too many health risks.

I don't see the point of it. You can easily wear this kind of stuff if it is embedded in clothing or jewelry, so there is no need to implant it under the skin.

+1 I'd rather have to wear, say a glove or headband or w/e instead of sticking technology into my body.. I'd need to have a really amazing reason to do that

Yeah, and especially when the technology becomes outdated relatively fast. Wearing it makes more sense. Wearing it has the benefit of being completely uninvasive. There are however situations where you definitely need to have something implanted. I believe people have been getting pacemakers implanted as far back as the 70's. And of course there are probably non-essential "gadgets" that wouldn't work without being implanted. None come to mind at the moment, but I'm sure there must be something, perhaps as of yet undreamed of.

um, some fancy night clubs do chip their regular customers (though those are mostly RFID chips), so they can pay w/o money.

Here's an article that dates back to 2004
I'm too lazy to search for other articles on the matter.

TL;DR: putting chips under your skin is so 2004

I've been seeing this article everywhere. It's not news; she's not even close to the first person. People have been doing it for years.
I watched a couple guys put a new one (each) into themselves in real life once. One of them already had a few various chips. It was pretty cool.
Edit: oh yeah and it's only tangentially related to doosex.

That magnet in her finger sounds kind of cool.

I think you could just wear a magnetic ring instead.

I find it kinda cool but I wouldn't do that to myself but rather encourage others to 'experiment' first so that they can 'iron out' the big issues haha

I could see this coming in use to identify dead bodies and John/Jane Does... but that is way too creepy for my tastes.
