My family's Steam name was created by my husband. When I asked him, he said that it is because he is an unorthodox person. Living with him for nearly two decades, I know that is true. Anyway, in order to make it into a username, he decided to remove the middle syllables. What was left became his username. Since it made no sense to create a separate account for me, I also use that name.

I was being bashed (and everyone on the server) on a pub Server in CS 1.6 De_Inferno by a guy named Blackburn himself..
a few days later I got tired of my nickname, don't remember which one it was, and I changed it to Blackburn.
The funny russian charachters came later, not cuz I speak russian/german etc but mostly because they seemed cooler

A long time ago.... like WebTV days I was VampyreSphynx, dunno why, liked vampires, liked the sphynx, carried the Y into vampire. Then one day I got married to my wife who is just simply Torti. So now she's mine, I'm hers. Now I'm TortisVamp because TortisVampyreSphynx just sounds dumb.

This name came from the DAOC random name generator. I used to go by other names online, but ended up sticking with this one for, well no reason really.

I just like the word. My Steam name is just another way of saying that you're really high. Pronounced doh-deed.

my nickname was residentboy because i was always sitting in the house playing games i was the permanent resident :D
then thanks to incompetent translators and their horribly done job, translating resident evil to deadly experiment and making everyone think that my nick meant deadly I adapted the situation by resilience.

I love Dopefish. It brings back quite a bit of nostalgia for me. When there's one of 'em in a game, I'll always seek it out. I've been looking for the ones in Anachronox during my most recent playthrough.

I used to like the name of a Full Metal Panic! character, then used it first time playing Ragnarok Online. Liked the nickname so much that I continued to use it since then.

I was like 12 years old when I came up with my nick name. U know the drill, when you'r not from an English speaking country and you want to impress them other kids with the "cool" name you made up.

My college nickname was Abu. A couple of friends used to say that I "abuducted" people (no idea how that got started). And that was basically it.

I changed mine about a year ago since I hate numbers. The name came from the FireFall random name generator. The other ones I got were BabySoup and FriedNut.

Steamgifts one was created when I was hungry (this is similar to one kind of food) and my Steam name is a mix of my nick names.

Let's see, how did I come up with my three main usernames? (Yeah, I have three different names online, for variety)

Rabbidking: Well, I licked the Rabbids when they first came out, so this was a pretty natural choice at the time. Of course, the Rabbids have lost their charm over time, but I still think this is a pretty cool name, and the one I use the most.

Gameslinger: I made this one up after reading The Dark Tower series. Pretty self-explanatory. Used a couple of times.

Raucebo: This is the most convoluted name I came up with. One day, while playing WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, I saw a quote that said something to the ffect of "The Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Cena, Batista, Edge, Orton... I've beaten them all." (Again, not sure about that last part.) I noticed the letters bolded above, swapped the E and B, and thus Raucebo was born. This is my newest name, and I haven't used it too much, but I hope to use it more someday.

Originally it was John Williams because of a CS:S server with 2 guys called John Williams and it ended up with everyone being John Williams. I changed it because I wanted something original and strange.

I used to just use Liliana, which was the name I gave my Dungeons and Dragons character during the session at the RP convention that my future husband DMed when I met him. Now it is always used, so I use Mistress Liliana as a homage to my Tremere Primogen of New Orleans old World of Darkness character that I created for one of his later campaigns.

Mine just happens to be my nickname from High School and so have stuck with it wherever I go, or the variation of Schmidyk when Schmidy is not available

I created it taking the first three letters out of three words I liked:

Necromancer

Dilaadv (supposed to be a game I was "designing" when I was little)

Zealot (But NecDilZea didn't sound good for me so I changed it to Zor)

And NecDilZor was the outcome ;)
