Really if you want to gift it to a friend gift it but that is really asshole like of you because others want this game and you win it and give it to a friend you dumbass really are you stupid ? Go on playblink but here are other rules!

It means 77% of the time he didn't even say thank you when entering giveaways. And then he creates a forum thread basically stating that the SG rules are stupid, and then he gets mouthy to the mods.
Yeah, I want him entering my giveaways. He sounds like a very pleasant guy. He definitely deserves free games. That he can then trade or sell despite SG's rules.

I just feel sorry for the person who gave you a game....

Except you win the game while accepting the rules of the community that give you the access to this possibility.

Look, people, let's not take the approach of moral arguments, because those get nowhere. Let'a also not take the approach of "because the rules say so", because the OP clearly means to question the reasoning behind those rules.
Here's what I've gotta say: You look at how the system can be gamed.
Without this rule, that means everyone could enter for every giveaway, just to win stuff, and then put it back on the market to make more giveaways. This (1) decreases the odds for people who actually want the game to play, (2) allow people to accumulate points endlessly since games could just get "recycled" (given to someone else who reposts it), and (3) make extra and useless traffic load on the site's servers.
That said, there's nothing preventing you from taking a game you won and not activating it and gifting it to your friend. Just that, because of the rules of this site, don't expect to be able to win another game from here.

To be fair, the contributor giveaway thing was created long after this rule was implemented, so this possibility wasn't even on my radar. But you're right.

You know guys... I just want to make a remark above the current dispute, where N1TRO is undoubtly mistaken and other side is correct, according to their kind of thinking and present rules.
A bigger part of this community thinks that rules are like holy bible. That rules are unbreakable and can't be disputed, disproved or impugned. That rule is like some kind of Great Wall of China. And if someone is dare to encroach on our sacred objects, we will insult him, beat him and "kick downstairs"... or something like that. It's pity and makes me worry. Because it's dangerous way of thinking and it slightly reminds me about sectarianism.
Just look. N1TRO isn't very diplomatic guy as i can see. He called rules dumb, which means he said that creators of this rules are dumb too. Simple logic. If you call something dumb you are surely insult a creator. But after that some guy with a nickname vidmavidma told him to "Put a cucumber up your ass, please."... After N1TRO replied to him, vidmavidma called him a morron... And after that many of the present comments were contained insults directed on N1TRO. And it's ok for you guys. This kid is suspended now (totally agree with the decision) but... it's ok to insult him. Some guy "igorportal87" insulted him 3 times in a single post and it's ok, he is on "our side". It's a sectarian way of thinking.
And the second part. It's not the first thread about this rule: "Don't trade, sell, resubmit, or give away games you win." It's not the first time people here, on steamgifts, do argue about this rule. So it's not something that was born today or yesterday. And everytime i take look on another new thread, people's "basement fact" of agreement to the present rule is that they want to make a person hapier by providing the exact game to the exact person. To be sure it's done within this way. But what exactly makes people hapier? It's very individual. Happiness is very individual. For example. If some person win a game and uncertain what to do - to activate this game on their own account or to trade it or to sell it. If he trade a game he can get another game which he want much more than the first - he becomes happy. If a person is poor and want to sell the game - he gets money - he becomes happy. But this way of thinking isn't relevant for sectarian groups. When i was a child, i had a lot of toys. It was different toys: some little toy animals, some toy soldiers. Later it was toy guns. And when i gave a toy to another boy or girl, to play together, i never said them: "I DEMAND YOU TO DO THE CERTAIN THING I WANT AND NOTHING ELSE OR I WILL BAN YOU FROM MY LIFE AND YOU WILL BE OUTLAW FOR ME AND MY FRIENDS". No...
I hope you will understand me and make the necessary conclusions.
P.S.: To prevent possible flame - I do obey all the present rules and never did anything to break or overpass it.
P.P.S.: I'm not perfect in english, sorry.

If you don't like how I talk to morons who joined SG just so they could disobey the rules, please PM or reply to my post. Talking behind someone's back is not nice.
P.S. I told him to put a cucumber up his ass because I though he may like it.

I wholeheartedly agree with this post. It makes a bunch of sense to me. The way some people here follow all the rules and insult others for no reason other than feeling they belong to the community is indeed, a retarded and dangerous way of thinking. Quite sectarian, too - true.
However, concerning the "do not trade, sell or give away games you win" rule, think of the reason behind it before you blast it, and try to think of a new, better rule as a suggestion instead of just slamming it. The reasoning is this - if not for that rule, the community would attract way more true leechers that just enter all giveaways.. Also, another part of it is; if I, for example, make a giveaway with the little money I have, I'd want it to go to someone who actually wants to play that game. And ok, I care more about the happiness of the person winning the game, so I shouldn't care whether that "happiness" takes the form of him playing the game, or him trading it off for another he wants to play. I'm with you on that. Me caring if my winner traded it off wouldn't be an issue of specifically wanting him to do exactly what I envision. The reason I'd be bummed out is this - how many of the other people entering really DID want the game and had their chances lowered by a bunch of people entering all giveaways and basically trying to farm tradable games? What if only half the people entering really do want the game, and the rest all just want to trade it off? Then the people wanting the game all of a sudden have 50% less chance of winning! That sucks. That's why I actually agree with the rule..
At the end of the day more of these kinds of rules should be footnoted with "PER THE GIVEAWAY MAKERS' DISCRETION". Anyone can message me on steam after they win a giveaway I make and ask stuff, like if it's ok to trade off, or maybe that he or she wanted the game at first, but has seen a new review that makes him doubt it, for example. Maybe then, I could ask for a re-roll.

And if you did see any of us in real life, you'd probably be very polite, because we can drive, and you need a lift to the movies (nothing R rated, though, I won't go buy tickets for you).

sigh I'm not even mad. I'm bemused. You see, when you grow up, you'll realize that once you're an adult, nobody cares when you first drove a car. Nobody cares when you first kissed a girl. Nobody cares if you've ever shot a gun in your life. See, when you become an adult, everyone has done most of those "important" life events, and most of us do them every day. The fact that you've commented the way you have has shown how very far you have to go, but that's ok, because you're a child. Children do and say childish things. Have fun with your games, and enjoy your childhood. I'd give quite a bit to go back to a time where I didn't have to drive every day ;)

We learned grammar, punctuation, and syntax. Also, who are you in god's name? A friend of OP?
And for the record, who cares how young you were when you did shit? All you typed means is this:
U drove a car when you were 11 - probably with daddy on a parking lot. Big fucking deal. I raced huge jeeps through the deserts of Dubai and Sharjah when I was 12. Also, big fucking deal.
Shot a gun when you were 3? Hmm, responsible parents you've got, for sure. Also, so fucking what? You didn't shoot with any proficiency or accuracy, you just fired a gun. Nothing special there.
Kissed a girl age 8 - again, so fucking what? Many people have at that age, and none of them, including you, knew what they were doing at the time. You didn't even have pubes - I'm not sure you do now yet either - and were a KID. What's would be more impressive would be being at an age where you DID know what you're doing, the girl also knew what she was doing, and still managing to woo her with such horrible language and social skills. Now THAT, would have impressed me.
Please. Stop posting. You make less sense than a turtle on 4 elephants' backs.

From another post I made here:
"Also, I'm reporting your user and the username of the OP to check if you've got the same IP.
147N1TRO has been suspended. Same language skills as you, and you've entered 3 giveaways > new user. Enjoy your ban."
No sympathy. He's trying to game the system.

Exaggerated a bit, but true - trying to insult a whole community pointing out a quite logical construct.

It's forbidden. That way SG tries to avoid cicle jerk... er I mean, circle gifting the same game.
It's a necessary rule. And anyone who doesn't like it can kiss my hairy 48-hours-unwashed ass

The creator of a giveaway is gifting the game to you. He's not gifting it to your friend, to your mom, to your favourite pair of shoes, but to you. He's not GIVING it, he's GIFTING it. And if you can't see the difference between the two... then, well, i think you're on the wrong website.
Comment has been collapsed.
Umm, dude, now you're making no sense. Describe the difference then, please.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, actually. You're suggesting a gift is something with more personal affectation associated with it, which is utter bullshit, since A) people that win a game off you on SGifts usually are strangers, B) even if not, it's a giveaway with multiple entrants. There's no one-to-one gifting with intent of specifically the winner getting the game, or any kind of consideration as to what to gift depending on who gets it...
Same deal. Generosity is generosity. It's actually one of the things I like about SGifts - the idea (which often fails hard anyway) of people throwing out prizes to the world, for someone, anyone, to win.. If you can't make a giveaway with a true spirit of generosity, you shouldn't be making them to begin with, in my opinion..

its not fake else if i didnt have 100$ it wouldnt let me use steamgifts i dont insult anyone who is this vadior some gay telling me to put a cucumber in my back place why dont he do it i didnt say anything about him i just posted that why i cant send a game to friend which i won how i break the rule if i do it from steam and it dont have such rule

GTFO of this awesome community. If you don't get the rules, Then wtf are you doing here? If you enter the giveaway of the game. It's because you want it for YOURSELF. and not for anyone else. It's because YOU WANT TO PLAY IT. YOU WANT TO HAVE IT ON YOUR LIBRARY. BECAUSE YOU WANNA FUCK IT. PSSTT.. Ignorants of life.

You don't understand. This site isn't a part of the steam. It's a separate site with it's own rules. If you don't like rules - make a polite discussion within the separate thread. Or complain directly to the admin using support function. It's what educated people do. Offence or insults will not give you a result.
P.S.: This also applies to those who do insult this "poor" guy.

It doesn't matter where it's sent from, You broke the rule that anything won must be redeemed on your account by not redeeming it. See what happens when you have brain cells? Things fall into place. It's magic!
But not that any of that matters, you also broke another rule by coming back here with another account...
Only one SG account allowed per person. Please do not share accounts.
No I am not calling you out, Just answering you. If you got the rules you wouldn't be here now.
The admins were nice enough to only suspend you the first time, I won't dare speculate at what happens now. ;)

Then he can enter the giveaway himself and try to win it.
There is no reason for you to need to enter for your friend. Just have him enter the giveaway in your place.
