How about trying to focus on several games at a time and try to beat those instead of stockpileing with games?

I don't know where you live, but ever contemplated seeing a doctor/therapist? While some shopping sprees are a more or less natural response to the pretty good marketing schemes of vendors, I have a feeling a few people are really losing 'it'.
Superficially, it depends on whether you can stop or not and what your reaction is if you try, but there are at least a few absolutely legal ways for businesses to take advantage of their consumer's insecurities to make money. Yes, I'm looking at you, Steam.

Just a thought. Since you're posting this on steamgifts, you might wanna try giving away a couple of those games. It might help you feel better about your compulsion. You might never get a chance to play them -especially if you don't like them- but someone else will definitely appreciate winning and playing them. Good luck with everything and don't do drugs.

Your profile says you seem to be proud of buying compulsively, as you even write your target is to own almost the entire steam library.
Why not starting by quitting revendicating that ?

TremorGames brother. You can pick up bundled games there and they will cost only your time.
Also, just play the damn things. 0.6 hours in the last two weeks? If your going to buy them, then at least play some of them.

He clearly did say that he has a lack of time, but as for that site its ok if you dont have a credit card or something but otherwise it just takes too much time to even earn a game

A game collector! Oh my... all people says "you have a problem" but what they are thinking is: "Share your game library with me!" xD

My friends say that I'm a dumbass for buying all the games I have but turn around and ask me to use the family sharing option with them. =.=

I tried. And then I used my wife's credit card. (Is it legal?) The result was that I didn't track my purchases as I did with my own card and spent even more.

No offenee, but it's "steamgifts", not "steamshrinks" - if you really think you have a problem, I think you should seek for qualified people to help you deal with your problem. If you don't think you have a problem: nice collection you got there, mate! :)

I remember the first time I have played a free to play game. I had urges to spend lot's of money at the end of the month right after my pay. I think what was happening was I wanted my character to become as strong as possible.
I ended up selling my account to someone for a decent price though but it wasn't a win-win situation I think since I only earned £200 from it and I probably have spent more than that.

The solution is easy, only use PayPal and set yourself a limit for every month. Also, lots of bundle leftovers for you, amiright? Try and trade those for the 1 or 2 games you'd need from that one bundle that is full of repeats.
As a sidenote, being a GOG costumer helped me GREATLY for avoiding this kinda buying spree, but it may be only me.

It's normal to be tempted to buy games, but if you can't get a hold of yourself, then you have a problem and you should seek professional help.

Play a MMORPG.It'll make you forget about Steam for some time, always actively play at least one MMORPG.F2P/Not P2W ones are good or buy Guild Wars 2 or The Secret World and play forever.

I don't think you understand the problem here.Problem is, the guy wastes too much money on games.Problem isn't "playing video games addiction".Playing free MMORPG's would save a lot of money, and I don't think they're more addictive than single player games.

From Apr to Dec 2013, I spent $2,400 on PC games. That's $267 every month!!!!!!
I thought bundles could have helped me save money but it turns out that the very opposite is true. I've spent way much more money than I would have normally paid for games.
What's worse is that I can't stop it. Whenever there is a bundle, even if I know there's absolutely no way I'll ever play those games and I don't like the games at all, I'll still buy them all.
