So i see everyday on the forum someone lost his level here cause a game is bundled,i dont get it why a guy loses his lvl if he buyed that game before it was bundled, for example someone buyed a game 2.9 and the game was bundled 10.9 and he loses his lvl, so i think it would be fair if the giveaway owner dosent loses his lvl cause he posted the giveaway 2.9 and not the 10.9

So what you think

That's how it works now. People lose levels because the bundle list isn't updated right away. Sometimes some games are missed and added much later.

Peeps are losing levels because the bundle list is being updated like mad atm. So long as Shobo keeps this up, expect this to keep on happening.

I learned the hard way it's better to just not give at all, losing over $600 cv. >_<

Every single instance is thanks to regional pricing. (except for that error by shobo, about a pack being on the bundlelist, only for the sole reason that the games in said pack were bundled before, and seperately too, shobo don't understand that pack has its OWN sub id, sigh, just cause you own said games, don't mean you own said pack [same with season passes]... and i was told this was to combat the possibility l of people making giveays for said pack, but ONLY giving away individual game keys... when IN fact, if people did this, they would be breaking the rules and should be singled out for punishment)

Wait, I thought you were allowed to do that (list a pack of games, even though you only have single keys). So for an example, if you have a key for syberia 1 and another for Syberia 2, you could give them away together as the Syberia bundle.

You are allowed that - all that really matters is that contents of the pack are redeemed on the winner's account, like in the example you've given.

If its true, then its pretty dumb, as packs have their own sub id (and sometimes, the packs/season passes, have extra goodies not found elsewhere).

If they have no extra stuff which is visible on the winner's game list, it can't be checked what was actually activated.

Yea, that is how it works for every single dlc and packs, no way to tell if people actually activated any of these things, beyound the base games being seen on their profile and the users own recieved/sent check bullet on their respected pages.

I guess in an atempt to make less work for the support staff, they just let it go.

It is actually possible to check if someone owns a certain DLC, though the person needs to be on your friends list (which at least makes it possible for the GA creator to check if someone has what he/she is giving away). For packs, there are no such methods.

The reason why packs should only be added to the bundle list, if the packs themselves were in a bundle or 95% off or more, not because the individual games where on the bundlelist.

I personally find the current system easier. Allow packs even if you have individual keys, but bundle them if all the games are bundled. It makes it less ambiguous when it comes to packs bought from other sites that offer individual keys for all games (like say GMG or GG), and it makes the system less easy to abuse.

That sort of defeates the purpose of a fair system, but then again, the bundlelist has zero offical thread/reasons posted anywhere, nor can we challange it and get it changed.

The system is fair as long as it's consistent. as long as all collections like these gets "bundled" if all the individual games counts as "bundled", the system is fair.

Can you give an example of such a pack? If it includes something that cannot be activated separately, then it indeed is not allowed.

Example, one of them Hitman Absolution packs, that contains "Hitman: Absolution – Sniper Challenge", which is not sold seperately.

edit: so if you only got the base game, and all the other dlc, you should complain :/

I think it's not be allowed for packs like deponia complete journey, which in practice is deponia + chaos on deponia + goodbye deponia premium + some extra stuff. The pack has a different steam ID of course.

Still, even if a pack has no extra stuff beyond said games, the person should still be required to giveaway exactly what their giveaways are for. So if the make a pack giveaway, they should have to give away an actual pack, not individual stuffs.

Seems like a rule somewhere in there.

But how would you check if they did? It's the same thing as with keys/gifts. If the winner just activates and doesn't complain, nobody is the wiser. And even if we ignore intentional abuse, most people won't even bother complaining, as long as they get what they wanted.

Indeed. For example if I would have a Biosho infinite code from the promo (const 1$, bundled) and I would give it with a season pass (not bundled) = Bioshock inf + SP bundle, not bundled. I could actually trick the system and pass my base game at full CV.

Also don't forget, a lot of the games on the bundlelist were never actually in a bundle, there were just free (for a limited time) or 95% off or more via other sources (like steamstore, nuuvem, amazon, greenmangaming, etc. keys)
