Have you enjoyed your time here or has it been a massive waste of time?
Happy Cakeday!!
I don't really have any favourite event. I do like the multiple events around Easter and especially Christmas. The immense community trains are great too. They have an energy and excitement about them.
Perhaps what keeps me coming back is some of the discussion posts and the conversations that are had. I enjoy reading them even if I do not always contribute.

Happy sixth cake factory day, even if I am a bit late. :)
Edit: For me, fiftykyu's Ziggurat of Disappointment has been the most memorable event during my time here.

Happy belated cake day! :) Sorry! :)
Hmmmm, I would feel bad mentioning any specific events, since there's a bunch of other fun things I forgot about. :( But the Fortix things were great, random people giving away a cheap game, just because. :) Well, I suppose back then there was the benefit of escaping the $30.00 bundle giver purgatory... :) But Fortix was a great little game, back when $1 didn't automatically mean asset flip or half-baked garbage. :)
Let's see... I enjoyed reading about the simultaneous giveaways things, but I never tried to join them so maybe they weren't as much fun on the inside... :)
Oh, hey, mood music, I forgot all about those. :( Makes me wonder what other cool things aren't going on any more, and we never even noticed... :(
Speaking of nostalgia, did anyone say thanks for Skyrim yet? Oh well. How about thanks for Skyrim VR? Sigh, VR? Ain't nobody got time money for that!
So try https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3djkU0Oplrc ... or maybe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j50u0zUeCmU ... or maybe even https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/DePiT/bad-rats-vr :)

simultaneous giveaways
I can't believe I forgot this one too. I did it two years I think, the first year I was absolutely not prepared for it and I still have a Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord giveaway pending from the second year. I was so confident that we were gonna have a release date by the end of that year.
It was really fun though, the adrenaline was something else. :D
Makes me wonder what other cool things aren't going on any more, and we never even noticed... :(
That's part of the reason I formatted the thread this way. It's interesting to read about the things that happened before I created my account, and the things that happened while I was afk. :) It also shows how immensely creative people can be when it comes to creating giveaways. I will never underestimate the creativity of people.
I thought for sure one of those links was gonna be Jarl ballin' and thanks for the bad rats VR giveaway! I've added it to OP. :D sorry for delay its been a wild week :D

Ouch, Bannerlord... That's got to be tricky for the winner, seeing they won a giveaway every time they visit... I wonder if that icon shows a number like the envelope one, or if they would they have to click it every time to see if it's a new one... Hopefully that game will get a price tag some day... :)
Thank you! :) Somehow I never saw that video before... Speaking of creativity... :)
There's probably a lifetime's worth of goofy videos I'll have to catch up on, assuming I ever finish the lifetime's worth of Steam backlog... Just need to live a few thousand years... :)

For me, many of the more memorable events have been puzzley giveaways. chuckie001's puzzles were some of the earliest and best that I remember; always very logical and difficult, but absolutely solvable. Also, one particular puzzle got me started watching Burn Notice and made me very much want to play Alpha Protocol (which I finally did, and loved it). MissK had some truly fun simple puzzles as well, often involving her own artistic creativity. The camaraderie of the kind folks on SG in general was always a really welcoming thing to see, though I always imagined I missed out on half of it by never really joining the chat.
There have been so many trains on this site that have been amazing, but I remember the London Underground in particular, since I had the privilege to add a few cars to it, and it took place while I was on vacation to the USA East Coast for the first time, so I had to browse most of it from my phone! I'm also very proud of my own Cake Factory event / text adventure from last year, though I definitely won't be able to reprise it this year.
And then there's always Skyrim and Bad Rats. :)

Happy belated cake day to still the most wholesome person on this website. Man, reading your threads always make me smile. :D
I've seen so many great events, it's hard to remember them all. I think the most memorable one of them all would have to be Delta's Fortix events, because one of them (I think it was Fortixember?) was my first time witnessing a forum event where everyone chipped in a giveaway or two.
Another that comes to mind of the SG Hunger Games by IgotElbows, because it was super hilarious. I remember being in one of them and spending my time eating lot of food, hugging a giant wasp, then passing out in a bush.
The Touhou events are quite memorable as well, even more so since I joined the group and got to see the whole thing unfold from the inside.
Now, not to seem egocentric, but lastly one of my favourite events I made was the "Catch Me If You Can" events, which involved a cat and mouse chase between forum users and me. It was spammy, it was stupid, but I quite liked it and unlike my other puzzle/events, this was actually somewhat creative. It wasn't particularly fun or interesting, but since I was the one who hosted it, it has become quite a fond memory.

Happy belated cake day!
You know that first thread I made actually did have an embedded gift link in it :P
My puzzler inspirations:
TheGreatGooglyMoogly - The great maze master!
jexel - The first great group puzzle creator, and ITH king
BlueAward - I'm not able to find some of his earlier puzzles, but he was one of the first to really bring cryptography to the forefront of puzzles.
Tzell - One of the first to make really intricate puzzles

Today is my cakeday! I haven't been overly active over the past year, I even missed doing something for my last cakeday. Today that changes. Today I create a thread. A thread of reminiscing and one question. I think we'll have fun.
This cakeday marks six years for me. Six years is a long time to be active on a forum. I registered back in 2013. My gods I was just a baby back then. 6 years! This got me to thinking of the time I've spent on here and the people I've got to meet. The things we've done together. It's more than being just about giveaways, it's about cherishing the time we spend together and fostering these relationships that will last an unspecified amount of time. I'm sure there are many of you that have met people and become friends with them over this website. That in and of itself is pretty amazing. Meeting people online and caring about them, crazy.
This also got me to thinking of all the awesome events and threads that have been created. So many unique ideas that have come about.
The ones that come to the top of my mind include:
These are just few of the many many moments/events/experiences you've come to appreciate on this beloved site of ours.
On to the question now! :D
What's been you're favorite event, moment or experience here so far? Does one come to the top of you mind or has this all been a massive waste of time? Or perhaps you have registered here many moons ago, only to stay in the shadows as a lurker. Never contributing, only leeching. Less than ten comments altogether. To you I say now is the best time to jump in! The water is just right!
Obligitory cakeday giveaway
Bad Rats VR courtisy of the great Fiftykyu
Solution: Each number/letter of the giveaway code was italicized above, and they were the only things that was italicized. Put together you had the code "aM63O" leading you to my train here: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/aM63O/60-parsecs :)
If you had difficulty with this, you should check out Zelghadis' Puzzle Guide.
