Lords Of The Fallen: Opinions?

Looking for it, I want more games inspired by Dark Souls and for what I have seen it looks promising. I hope it will also have an interesting map design, I like to explore.

Played it at gamescom. Did not really like it. Especially when comparing it to Dark Souls. The combat was clearly inspired by Souls as in block/dodge and attack but it felt more hack n slash to me because of the flashier attack patterns & moves and the limited inventory of 3 health potions, which didn't do it for me. The hit detection was a bit off, too.

Plus, they said the boss was very difficult, thing is though, he's just a bullet sponge with 2 different attacks, even without getting hit I don't think one could've made it through the demo in the limited time they give you lol

Also, I hope that was just for demo purposes but the level was filled with Checkpoints which made it quite easy to run through to the boss..

It might feel different with the whole game at hand and it probably takes more time to really get into the combat, f.e. I liked the magic spells (in the end they're also just OP ranged attacks but w/e) and the graphics/sound/overall atmosphere was pretty cool, I'd still wait for reviews though :)

Hopefully it delivers, I am expecting a slightly more casual dark souls type experience with their own spin on it.
