Expecting at least -50% on Xmas, it's rather old product already.

Sometimes retailers like Target and Best Buy sell them for 10% off.

It is. Best Buy is notorious for it during holidays.

Really? I've never seen that at my local Best Buy (or even when it was Future Shop). I'll have to keep my eyes open for it. Thanks for the tip!:)

Black Friday and Christmas tend to be the sales they pop on. Keeping an eye on cheapassgamer.com helps.

I usually go to Best Buy on Boxing Day. Should I check the store out before Christmas, or do you think that they would do it on Boxing Day as well?

Is it only the American Best Buys they do this at, or would they do it in the Canadian ones as well (I am Canadian, which is why I am asking. :) ).

I'm afraid I don't know what Boxing Day is, but it should be international. When it happens they tend to be announced through their in-store flyers. They also occasionally mirror the deal on their web store.

Sorry about that. Boxing Day is the day after Christmas, and is celebrated in Canada and United States. Usually, very good deals can be found, and the stores usually open earlier than normal.

I like getting there early and parking far away (as there are some really crappy drivers out there!). I get a few items before all the people line up to pay for their goods so I don't have to wait too long before I can get the heck out of there!

Huh. I'm from the US and I've never heard of it.

Anyway, like I said, CAG tends to put out stickied threads on their forum when prepaid cards like Steam, XBL, and PSN cards go on sale somewhere. Always check with them when nearing major sale seasons/holidays.

Hmmmm. It must just be for Canada then. What do they call December 26th in the US? You'd think I'd know, since I have a fair number of American friends, but I must be getting forgetful in my old age.

ANd I will check out CAG for sure. Thank you.:)

It's just December 26th, here. After looking it up, Boxing Day is primarily a UK and Commonwealth affair. Though by retaioer description, it sounds similar to our "Black Friday", the day after US Thanksgiving, which is in November.

It's Canada/UK, it doesn't meaningfully exist in the States. The 26th is often a state holiday, but that's based in an extended Christmas leave, rather than existing as its own holiday.

It's probably there so people can add it to their wishlist, to be seen by family members who aren't gamers and wouldn't know which game to buy. Now they have a link to see what the cards look like and find out where to get them, for instance.

It's basically a season pass. You're pre-buying all future DLCs.

Probably like Steam Wallet cards sold at retailers, but with games too as well as other stuff specifically available on steam like redeemable codes for items in TF2 or CSGO or the sort.

It was a poor attempt at sarcasm - as in 'what's the point of steam store credit now that it can't be used to buy Digital Homicide games?'
