I don't know anything about Dragon's Dogma, but looking at the store page, it looks kind of interesting, so I like the pick:)

Already own Dragon's Dogma (twice actually, once on PS3 and another on Steam) but I've been thinking of grabbing another copy to giveaway, so I guess I'll grab it. Although maybe now more people will own it and less will be interested in the giveaway.

I like me some good story, sure... but I'm mostly looking to enjoy the games I'm playing, and I have most probably had fun playing some that were considered cliché and/or forgettable by a majority of gamers. But no fast travel, now... that's something that can really annoy me. :o/ I'm probably going to purchase the December bundle anyway but... you made me a bit less enthusiastic about Dragon's Dogma than I first was.. ;) Thanks for replying, I appreciate your input. :)

Sadly I haven't yet. I nabbed it a while back because it looks so good but I've been replaying the Mafia series so I could start the third. It looks like you received some good feedback below, though. :) Let me know if you do get it. Maybe we could start playing at the same time and share war stories. :)

:)
Mafia 1 is a truly wonderful game. Although I experienced some issues playing it on a modern PC it still played well. Despite some shadow flickering and other such issues, the game still runs at the proper speed and the audio worked for the most part. I had a great time playing through it.
Mafia II is another amazing game, in my opinion. It seems to receive a fair amount of criticism with many saying it lost its way from the original, but I respectfully disagree. The story is immersive, the characters and their backgrounds are well written and go through the ebbs and flows of wanting it all just as Tommy did, and the era of pre- and post-WWII is just an incredible time. The game play is similar to the original with the police coming after you if you speed, run red lights, etc. and they will mark your clothing and/or vehicle as wanted if they get a good look at them/it. Although Empire Bay is large, it's a linear game just as the first with the driving from one place to another being largely mapped out. You can modify clothing and vehicles and enter businesses. There is still an odometer and the need to fill your car with gas. The largest difference I noticed is that if you reload your weapon with ammo remaining in the clip/drum/chamber you still keep the rounds versus losing them as in Mafia 1. This removes the strategy that went into whether or not to reload and balancing out gun play that the original had. In my opinion, it truly builds upon everything that was wonderful in the original and is well optimized for modern PCs. I highly recommend it.
Mafia III, on the other hand, is feeling like a chore. It's reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 1 where you complete the exact same mini tasks every mission to learn what to do in the big picture. It also reminds me of running all over collecting all the scrap metal as in Mad Max. While the story is well written and the method of presentation is superb, there are countless hours of "chores" to complete between each mission that it seems too fragmented and tedious. Of course I'm a completionist and go after every task and collectible, so there's that. But if you ask me, there is nothing about the feel of this game that places it in the same vein as the tremendously well written and produced Mafia 1 and II.

Wow, I wasn't expecting mini-reviews, that's really nice. :) I still hope to play Mafia 2 at some point but your take on the latest installment in the franchise makes it look somewhat forgettable. Maybe I simply won't bother with it. unless it gets bundled... as in HB tier 2, not tier 3 ;)

I highly recommend you play Mafia II. I've been searching for a copy for you. Hopefully I'll find something sooner or later. <3 As for Mafia III, I think it's worth a play if you enjoy Mafia games. Although it's not really a Mafia game in my opinion, it still has a great story and a nice way of presenting it. I've read that if you just play through the story without completing all the object hunting and side objectives it can be beaten in 10-12 hours. I'm sure that makes the flow much better and not so long between major story developments as I'm experiencing.

awww you don't have to. I appreciate the gesture but honestly, it would only make me feel bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ About Mafia III, the thing is... I think I would feel compelled to do every little tasks, side quests, whatever you call them. Well, probably most of them. And I can well imagine how tedious that could become. :o/ Which would probably result in me getting bored relatively fast, I think. As I've said, for now, the only way I would be tempted to add it to my library is if it was part of a bundle.

I am still sorta confused about the 12/30$ pricing thing.... so if I wait it out to get autocharged (since I got my first bundle this nov bundle) will I get 12$ charged or 30 ?

Seems like Dragon's Dogma is region locked... Humble gives me a warning before revealing the key.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't know why, but it sounded racist, lol. Anyway, it's locked anywhere with not ROW Steam store. So yeah, RU/CIS, Brasil, Asia and so on. Though you may be right if there are only 2 subs.

Oh no, it wasn't supposed to sound racist. :) It's only because of the subs, and those are also where the general region locking often is at.
Anyways, I asked a friend of mine from Asia and he said he didn't see anything about a warning when he revealed and used the key.

Nah, of course not, that's just what it looked like to me for some reason, lol. Anyway, please edit just RU lock to RU/CIS lock, as DD is locked in CIS countries as well.

I'm receiving reports that Dragon's Dogma is region locked. It seems Capcom strike again with their idiotic region policy

Mille, please add the region locking notice for Dogma to the thread.
