If you can get the deal where you get Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite included with a 7850, then I would definitely go for the 7850. I don't know euro prices very well, but it might be within your budget. If you game at 1080p (or less), you only need the 1GB version.
You might also be able to get the deal where Far Cry 3 comes with a 650 Ti. That's not the best deal in the world since that bundle has been down to ~$70 in the past few months, but if you can't get the 7850 bundle and you like FC3, it may be worth pursuing.
Moral of the story, at this point in the generation, you're buying year-old GPUs, so you outta be able to get a nice game or two bundled with them. Accept nothing less.

Don't know if its just here in the states, but a 650ti gets you a $75 voucher for 3 games ($25 per game)
$25 for World of tanks
$25 for Hawken
$25 for Planetside 2
Up to you if its worth it or not. Also its tomb raider and not crysis 3. it might just be the different brands though.

Oh yeah, that's what they switched it to, isn't it? Thanks for correcting me.

i do agree with everyone on getting ATI as they preform well and the game bonus is quite nice, im currently rocking a used 550ti that i bought cheap, still runs BF3 at 1920 with everything on high (no aa). so you have a nice wide array of choices

7850 or the new coming 7790; is cheaper and will be in a month released.
Or also a gtx650ti.

If he can spring for a 7850, he might be able to get Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite bundled. I don't think there's a bundle for the 7700 series.

Hey hey.
I just got some older Hardware from a friend. I was able to play all the games I wanted to play on my MacBook Pro via Bootcamp, except for Crysis 3 (lack of DirectX 11 GPU) and Ghost Recon: Online (many disimprovements since 0.5.5, which made it incompatible with C2D-CPUs for now. Fix is incoming).
It's a GA-P35-DS3 mainboard with a single 16x PCIe 2.0 slot, a 500w PSU, 8gigs of RAM, a 3,4GHz Intel QuadCore and now, to get this fucker running, all I need is a GPU.
I never was a high quality-gamer, so no need for 2560x1600 16x FSAA @ high settings-stuff. I record some stuff on an external device with a resolution of 1280x720, so that's what I'm heading for.
Any recommendations for an affordable GPU? 100 to 150 € max.
