won a region locked game

So i won a game today and it was sent as a steam gift.
The game is region locked to Russia and the countries around there. So i cannot activate it on my account.

Should I mark the game received and create a giveaway to give it to someone else ? What should I do in this situation ?

No, mark it as Unreceived and send it back, since you didn't receive a copy you could use.
Also, make sure to tell them so they can fix it.

A reroll? Are you kidding right? It's against the rules giveaway region locked games, creator should get back that game and give him a game available on all regions, or once known the winner, at least one that can be redeemed on that region.

Yup i know , but if the person is not able to provide a copy that is not region lock then mark it has not received i guess :)

Steam just region locked any game you purchase since december onwards... the rules need to be updated

in several regions, yes....but until those rules and mechanisms are updated this should not be any excuse for Givers to do their homework, and at least to ensure that everyone that enters those GAs know that those are restricted.

Not every game is RB,only those Russian and very cheap countries. Yiu could always check if gift is RB,by checking in inventory-red mark is RB

No. Contact the creator and maybe give it back while requesting an unlocked one, then mark it as unreceived.

Do not re-gift.
Flag it with the gifter as he did not give you a valid copy so you did not receive anything really..

Return the game to the gifter, and request a region-free copy of the game. If it's not provided within 7 days, you may mark the giveaway item as not received.
